( I knit

sweaters for my kids and make smocked dresses for my girls

Glad to see another smocker in the group. I learned to smock

18 years ago, and smocked a sundress for my daughter. The

smocking was great, but I did't know how to sew, so it never got

put together. Five years ago we moved into a townhouse/condo

and my neighbor belonged to a smocking club. She helped to get

me back into it. I have made dresses for my grand daughter and

am currently working on several things that are going into my

" grandmothers " hope chest just in case my children ever decide

to bless me with more grandchildren.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to post today to say I FEEL GREAT. I always have people

coming up to me and asking how I can be so happy all of the time with 5

children in six years ( two sets of twins and one very special

singleton), and how I can get all of the things done that I do( I knit

sweaters for my kids and make smocked dresses for my girls). The answer

is that I take time for myself. That includes doing my life lift,

giving myself a facial once a week, and doing my projects. I find that

if I give to myself I have more to give to my family. I have also

learned not to sweat the small stuff. I really love that poem that

goes: Quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep, I'm rocking my baby and

babies don't keep.

Life lift has definitely given me more energy and made me a happier

person. I know I must be loosing, but I have stopped measuring for a

while. I got rid of my scale years ago , because it is so easy to get

caught up in the numbers. I was having the same problem with measuring.

So, I have decided to wait a few weeks, to keep myself from obsessing

over it.

I hope you are all enjoying life as much as I am.

Wow Gail! What an inspiration you are! I think it is wonderful that you

are taking time for yourself. It for sure makes you a better mother for

your precious babies. And believe me thay grow up much too fast! Do you by

any chance have that little poem? I have been looking for it. I used to

have it when my girls were little. I carried it in my wallet, but have

misplaced it over the years. I would love to have it for my daughter.

Sorry ,

I can't seem to find my copy. We just finished our basement and lots of things

are missing in boxes in the garage. I always just think of that part of the

poem when I am feeling a little guilty about not keeping the house perfect. It

reminds me that what I am doing is more important than a perfect house right

now. I will keep looking and if I find it I will send you a copy.

Here is a copy of the poem for you. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Cottage/3889/babiesdontkeep.html

I am also a knitter, crocheted, and sewer. I have never smocked though. That and tatting are something that I wanted to learn and never did.

Gail,

Thanks for the reminder that we need to take care of ourselves....that is so

true. It's very easy to get all wrapped up in all the responsibilties that we

have but if we don't take some time for just us, then we get tired, cranky,

grouchy, and unhealthy. Lifelift is most certainly a treat that we can

benefit from! I think all of Rashelle's products encourage us to remember

ourselves....if we take care of us than we can be at our best for those

around us!

Wanda, You darling,

Thank you so much for this. I am going to take your advise and stop here in ten minutes, 11 pm, no matter how much mail is left. Tomorrow is another day and I am certain that those of you who are waiting for a response from me, will allow me until tomorrow to answer.

I am grateful to all of you for all of your support and messages of concern. I am going to have company for the weekend and so I will take a while for myself. I promise.

I have become so joyfilled at being here with all of you that it can be hard to stay away. My goal is to take a few days next week and get on the new audio tapes, so I will need to have my energy up and my brain fuzz gone, so that means getting some of the glorious sunshine that is sitting outside in the daytime and having a few hours of extra sleep. Then I can fulfill all my promises to all of you to get on those audio tapes.

Love to you all,

Rashelle

taking care of yourself

Rashelle and all our list members:

In order for all things to work, including LL, we must take care of ourselves. This means with all the other things we do, like work, take care of a house, the kids, aging parents, bills, the taxi cab service we run for the family, the appointment setting, etc, etc, etc. We need to so desperately find the time to replenish our own souls and bodies. So don't ever feel guilty if you take time for yourself. If you don't find that time, you won't find the needed energy to deal with all of life's normal ups and downs.

Like the L'Oreal commercial says, "I'm worth it!", and aren't we all worth a little bit of time for ourselves.

Have a great sunshiney day. May God bless us all.

Wanda
