Hi Libby! Well, sounds like Spring is in the

air...one thing I did that made me feel really good

last year was that I went to the beauty salon and they

have a new hair color that is CLEAR. It simply makes

your hair shiny. My guy charges $30 to " color " my

hair clear and it made me feel so good. I'm too

chicken to actually color my hair, but the added shine

really made me feel wonderful. Of course, I have to

get a manicure and pedicure also for the ultimate pick

me upper, but, as I'm not made of money, I can't do

this all the time. Also, I have an eyebrow pencil for

my invisible eyebrows. I use it very lightly of

course. Can you french braid your hair? That might

be a nice change for you.

Hope you find a new makeover that's simple. Oh, what

are you doing for your large pores? I need to KNOW

this secret, as nothing has ever helped me. Please

let me know if you discover a secret to this.

ta ta,

Cristi

Dear Christi...the French braid sounds like a great idea! What I am

doing for my large pores: I wash with Cetaphil...lots of allergies,

and I wet some baking soda in the palm of my hand and massage the

pore areas with 1 finger in little bitty circles...then rinse. I do

that about once or twice a week.

Also your pedicure idea was a good one. There is a beauty school here

in town..maybe I can give them a call...I remember I had one last

summer and it felt SO GOOD! (not to mention inexpensive!)

I have had touble with eyebrow stuff...pencils, powders, etc because

of my allergies. I was thinking about having them colored...as it

would be one irritation for the coloring session and then just

leave 'em alone for a while.

Thanks so much for responding...I really appreciate it!

Pah!

Cristi, PLEASE ask your "guy" exactly what this clear hair color is. I have a lot of white/gray hair in my used to be dark brown, that is very dull. I do not want to color my hair but sure would love the shine. I have extremely dry hair. I live in a small country town {actually I'm out in the

woods :-) }.... and even in Lumberton they are rather slow in keeping up with the rest of the country BIG;-) Fayetteville is only about 45 minutes away, but I never even KNEW they had colorless haircolor! Thanks for any help you and/or your "guy" can give me! It sounds like just what I was looking for.

God bless, Bonnie

Libby,

I don't have any makeover advise for you, but I know what you mean about the

odd body image thing. I have the same problem. I think I look pretty good

until I see myself in the mirror unexpectedly too. But, the worst is

photographs. My husband and my Dad tell me I am beautiful all of the time.

So, I just hope they are right and what I see in the mirror and pictures is

confused in my mind by what the media tells me I am supposed to look like.

You probably look better than you think you do most days.

Good Luck with your makeover,

Gail VW

Bonnie,

My name is Abby Janowsky. I hope this posts correctly. I have been a

lurker for a few months now on these lists, but thought I'd post for the

first time when I read that you live in Lumberton. I don't live far from

you. I live just past ville in Hubert. My husband just retired from

the Navy and was stationed at Camp Lejeune for the past 8 1/2 years. I

started out doing Body Flex last year. I was a size 16. I hit a plateau

when I got to size 12. I then found out about Life Lift. I ordered the

tape and could not believe how something so " gentle " could be so effective.

I am now a size 10, moving towards size 8 (slowly now that I don't have as

much to lose.) I e-mailed Rashelle with a question about the herbal wrap

products and told her the same thing, that I was totally amazed how " gentle "

Life Lift seemed but how effective it is. It now seems so natural to do the

Life Lift program, even while driving and at work (of course when no one is

looking.) I do the same thing that Karma does when I am in public. I do

the " pah " quietly. While at my children's soccer games on Saturdays, I sit

there and Life Lift with people all around me. I love it!! I'm exercising,

and I am not even moving from my chair. I love running into people I

haven't seen in a while and they do a double take when they see how much

thinner I've become. I crack up when I see the expression on their faces

when I tell them I only exercise 15 minutes a day and I eat all day long.

Like Tami, I was a bulimic and I also was anorexic. I have to thank Karma

for mentioning Antonello's " Breaking Out of Food Jail. " I special

ordered it from Waldenbooks. It has definitely " freed " me from food jail.

For years I was on the diet/binge roller coaster. And to think all I needed

was a " tool " such as this no-nonsense book to tell me that when you feel

hungry, eat. When you feel satisfied, stop. I have also become very

addicted to the lists. I work until 11:30 p.m., and the first thing I do is

turn on my computer when I come home. I am usually up until 2 in the

morning reading all of my " mail " . It really is amazing how I feel like I

know everyone just from reading responses every day. My husband thinks I've

lost my mind. I wonder why he doesn't get as excited as I do when I hear

there is a way to rid myself of cellulite once and for all. And

stretchmarks! A way to finally be rid of them, too? Hallelujah!!! Thanks,

guys, for your testimonials on the herbal body wrap trio. My 39th birthday

is this Tuesday and I ordered it for myself. Before I'm 40 I would love to

be cellulite and stretchmark free. I also am one of those mailman watchers.

What my husband doesn't know I ordered won't hurt him!! (Just his

wallet!!) Okay, sermon over. Now that I have officially come out of the

lurking closet, you'll probably be hearing from me again. Bonnie and

everybody else, it's great that there are so many positive people on these

lists. It really keeps me motivated through my ups and downs.

Hi Abby,

That was a great message. It is nice to hear about the success of

others, it helps to keep those of us, who are progressing slowly,

motivated. I am glad you've quit lurking and I look forward seeing

more of your posts!

Hi Abby,

I am so glad that something I have said is helping someone else. It is good to know that I don't just fritter away my time sharing. My husband also doesn't understand this cyber thing. He is not very supportive of it at all. He is supportive of me learning how to be a healthier happier person though. I just can't help sharing as I go.

I look forward to what you have to share too.

Sincerely,~Karma

Well, I'm a little late answering this msg and think I've seen several others answer it for me, but my guy moved and so I can't ask him what colorless hair color it was. I think Karma answsered this question though. Sorry, I'm no help. (and I am MAD that he moved away becuase my new " girl " botched my hair and now I'm having to let it grow out).

Hi Rashelle,

Thanks for the welcome. I love it that you are " right here " to hold

our hands. I can definitely see myself able to stick with Life Lift as a

way of exercising, forever. Even on days when I have to " motivate " myself

to exercise, if I don't feel like doing the whole routine at once, I love

having the option to break it up throughout the day. Then I don't feel

guilty because I know I am still getting the oxygen benefits and am working

on my abs and tush. I also do the squats and raise up on my toes to work on

my calves at the same time. I do these sometimes at the kitchen sink while

I'm doing dishes. For those of you who are still in the process of getting

down to your goal weight, the only reason why I sometimes just break up the

exercise routine and don't do the whole thing is because I am basically at

my goal weight. I am just doing maintenance now. When I first started out

doing Body Flex, I did the exercise routine from start to finish, twice a

day to help get me jump-started. I did this for a few months. Then I

tapered off to once a day. I know it is a personal preference on how much

to exercise, but for me, I was so disgusted with myself that exercising for

15 minutes a day twice a day became a priority for me. It's much easier to

exercise for 15 minutes at a time than 30 minutes, as we all know. Now I do

Life Lift only. I do a lot of running around where I work so that gives me

an " extra curricular " workout also. Thanks again for the warm welcome,

Rashelle.

Hi Jill,

Thanks for the welcome. It wasn't until a few months ago that I even

stumbled upon a support group for breathers. I was totally amazed that

there were other exercise " rebels " like me. Even though it's a benefit at

any time one joins a breathing list, I personally feel that if I had known

such lists existed when I first started exercising in this manner, it would

have made my progress easier to know I could have had emotional support any

time I needed it. All I had to do was ask, and someone would be there to

lend an emotional helping hand. I, like most of you out there, have tried

the conventional methods of trying to lose weight - dieting, exercising

until I was blue in the face, more dieting, buying every exercise gadget

shown on t.v. - yes, I too am guilty of buying things that just " sit. " I am

the " as seen on tv " gadget queen. And the amazing thing is, I've had the

most success just exercising with me - no gadgets - and the amazingly easy,

quick, yet so effective method of Life Lift breathing. (Now I sound like an

infomercial, don't I?) I can't rave enough about it. We are so lucky that

Rashelle was blessed to come up with this kind of program that is so

affordable, yet takes so little time out of our busy days. Just look at the

inconvenience and expense of going to a gym and having to deal with a

personal trainer. We get to have our own personal trainer at the fraction

of the cost. How many of you out there have joined gyms, gone a few times,

then never went back? I've done it so many times. I'm not knocking gyms,

if someone is disciplined enough to go on a regular basis, great. I'm just

saying how great it is that we can just roll out of bed, and no matter what

we look like or are wearing, in a few minutes our exercises can be over for

the day. No need to make excuses. I am a perfectionist and an

all-or-nothing type of person. It's hard for me to see a gray area. That's

why I would throw myself into exercising with the best of intentions, but I

would put such high expectations on myself that I couldn't even live up to

them. I would go and go and then eventually crash and burn, so to speak. I

used to get up at 4 am and walk for an hour, then do floor exercises for 30

minutes, then go to work for 8 hours, then come home and walk for 3 more

hours. I wonder why I was always tired then? That's when I first started

with my bulimia and anorexia. I was 20 years old and was struggling to be

thin and was watching what I ate, feeling guilty when I would be hungry.

When I couldn't control the hunger anymore, or when I got disgusted with

myself, I would snap and binge. I discovered purging by accident, actually.

It is a terrible cycle and hard to stop, for those of you who are

fortunate to never have experienced it. It is exciting for me to be at this

place in my life. And the amazing thing is how I am having such results in

the smallest amount of time I need to exercise, plus I am getting to eat all

the time, rather than starving myself. I know I am getting redundant with

referring to the exercising and eating, but for so long I have struggled

alone. It is exciting to have other people in the same boat as me, who are

striving for the same thing, and going about it in the same fashion. Thanks

again for the welcome, Jill. Where in Florida are you from?

Hi Abby, I know you were writing to Bonnie, just thought I'd let you know

that I have a beach house at Topsail Island and I shop in ville all of

the time. I think it is really neat that so many Carolina girls are on this

wonderful board. I think this one is the greatest! Especially since we have

Rashelle here with us. If you have been lurking you already know how

supportive everyone is.Take care and keep on breathing. Good to have you

Abby,

Welcome! It's really nice to have you on board. I think you'll enjoy our

members and the encouraging posts that we get on a daily basis. I'm not sure

if you have read any of the posts that I have sent to the list, but I have

been in a similar situation as you. Life Lift has made an incredible

differance for me and I think you will be very pleased as you see more and

more wonderful changes in your health and body.

Once again, welcome and we're so pleased to have you.

Karma,

Everything you bring up is so valuable!!! As I had mentioned in a

previous post, I am so thankful that you suggested " Breaking Out of Food

Jail. " I, like you, am addicted to sweets, though not to the extent you

were. Eating sugar out of a sugar bowl is definitely addicted!! Also,

thanks for the info on crepey skin and problem hair. In fact, I have a

question, if you don't mind. For about the last 2 years I have noticed that

my hair has been growing in brittle and stiff, for lack of a better word.

It looks flyaway and dry whenever I wash it. I've always had oily hair, but

now even with using shampoos and conditioners for dry, damaged hair they do

nothing but weigh my hair down or they don't make a difference at all. When

I read your response about needing EFA's, it dawned on me that for the same

2 years my arms have had that crepey look. I had assumed it was just from

too many years of sun damage, but from my description do you think the EFA's

would help my hair as well as my skin? I don't have a problem with my hair

growing, just the brittle dryness. Also, my hair used to be shiny, but now

it's so dull looking. I hate it. My bathroom looks like a beauty salon,

with all the different hair products I have tried with no success. My

husband cringes every time a new one shows up. (Can anyone relate?)

Thanks,

Abby

Hi Starr and Bonnie,

Thanks for the warm welcome. Bonnie, I am located just northeast of

Wilmington. It's a little over an hour away from Wilmington. Morehead City

is not far from me, if you know where that is. I can relate to the

" wanting " extra things. Every week when I get my paycheck, I give myself a

small allowance so I can save up for any goodies I want to treat myself to.

I also want to try many of Rashelle's products. I am tired of buying things

that make all these wonderful claims, but they really don't work. Knowing

that Rashelle has personally made sure her products are effective, plus

reading everyone's rave reviews has made a believer out of me.

Starr, you sure are close to me. I live right outside of ville.

It's nice finding out some of us are not too far from each other. It

really would be fun to one day meet others from the list in person. You are

right. This is a great list. This is one addiction that I know is healthy

for me!!!

Sincerely,

Abby

Jill,

I used to live in Florida. I've lived in Coral Springs which is just

outside of Ft. Lauderdale, I've also lived in Ft. Lauderdale, Gainesville,

and North Miami Beach. My mom lives in Deerfield Beach (she accidentally

sent me an e-mail response on this list earlier today. She thought it was

going to me privately. As soon as I saw it posted on this list, I called

her up and told her about her mistake. Sorry everybody.) One of my

brothers lives in Hollywood, and my other brother and sister live in North

Miami Beach. Even though I haven't lived in Florida for years now, I still

consider it my home.

Sincerely,

Abby

Hi Abby,

I would have to say, yes. I believe that adding the good fats to your diet would really help your hair and your skin a lot. I take the UDO's oil. I personally like the taste and just take it directly from my 1/8 cup measuring cup. I do that 3 times a day. My skin is no longer crepey and my hair is not breaking anymore. My 4 year old daughter's hair is looking much better too. She is susceptible to lung problems and has been on a lot of antibiotics in her young life. We actually almost lost her when she was just two. If I had waited like the Drs. told me to do when she was sick she would be dead. We took her to the University Hospital and they immediately put her in Intensive care and put a lung tube in to pump out the fluid from her little lung. She is a petite little thing and they pumped out over two liters of fluid from her lung. The told me the exact CC's but I don't remember, I do remember the nurse telling me it was comparable to two liter bottles of pop in her little body. She was actually operating on only 1/4 of a lung. Her left lung was so full of fluid that it was crushing her right lung. Anyway, her little body is still recovering from all the drugs that they put in her and the repeat drugs. Her hair used to be long, soft and very curly. It is now course and very brittle. I am giving her UDO's oil also. It is remarkable the improvement in the texture of her hair. The roots are growing in soft again. She has about an inch of soft hair at the roots with the rest still being the coarse dry stuff. She is now wearing her hair short because I keep cutting off the dry stuff. I am also using Rashelles shampoo and conditioner on her. That makes a great big difference too.

On that subject. Last weekend my husband and I took a weekend vacation and I didn't want to waste any of Rashelle's shampoo by it getting messed up in the luggage or flying compression, etc. So, I didn't take it. I used my old Pantene Pro V for the weekend. When I got back home for the first time in a couple of weeks there was hair in the drain screen again when I was done washing my hair. It took two times using Rashelles products before there was again no hair in the drain screen when done washing. I think this says something, don't you!

As for my diet. I used "Breaking Out of Food Jail" techniques to get over my sugar addiction. I am free from it. I am now eating on the according to the Zone by Dr. Barry Sears. I really do feel that this way of eating is much healthier and will help me to live a long and healthy life. I was not able to eat the zone way before breaking out of food jail though. I think it must be a necessary step to go through to get over the carbohydrate or sugar addictions that a lot of people deal with. I now have absolutely no trouble eating the zone way. I am eating a lot of food, yet it is not high in calories because it is low glycemic veggies and fruits combined with proteins and healthy fats. I think it is the way out bodies where meant to eat.

Just my .02 cents.

Karma, just an FYI, Pantene Pro-V is one the absolute worst things you can use on your hair, next to Suave and the other cheap stuff at Wal-Mart, KMart, etc..... Yes I am a hair stylist, and yes, I guess you could say I'm prejudiced. But the Pantene, especialy the 2 in 1 stuff, condtioner in the shampoo, has a lot of wax in it and it coats the hair. This is espcially bad if you color your hair, it prevents the color from entering the hair strand and causes it to fade and dry out quicker. If you have to use discount store products, I would suggest the Aussie Mega line or the Physique line. Hope this helps, W from Oz

Hi ,

I know that your reply about shampoo was to Karma, but I want to thank you

for the recommendations. I got a big pump bottle of Pantene Pro-V shampoo and

conditioner at Costco. It is not what I ordinarily use, but I thought the

price was good. I noticed though, that I hardly ever use it. I am constantly

looking for shampoo that I like., so I always have 2 or 3 brands around. The

Aussie and Vidal Sassoon are two that I buy often. Now I guess I should just

toss that Pantene. Thanks

Marie

I love it that you are "right here" to hold our hands. I can definitely see myself able to stick with Life Lift as a way of exercising, forever. Even on days when I have to "motivate" myself to exercise, if I don't feel like doing the whole routine at once, I love having the option to break it up throughout the day. Then I don't feel guilty because I know I am still getting the oxygen benefits and am working on my abs and tush. I also do the squats and raise up on my toes to work on my calves at the same time. I do these sometimes at the kitchen sink while I'm doing dishes. For those of you who are still in the process of getting down to your goal weight, the only reason why I sometimes just break up the exercise routine and don't do the whole thing is because I am basically at my goal weight. I am just doing maintenance now. When I first started out doing Body Flex, I did the exercise routine from start to finish, twice a day to help get me jump-started. I did this for a few months. Then I tapered off to once a day. I know it is a personal preference on how much to exercise, but for me, I was so disgusted with myself that exercising for 15 minutes a day twice a day became a priority for me. It's much easier to exercise for 15 minutes at a time than 30 minutes, as we all know. Now I do Life Lift only. I do a lot of running around where I work so that gives me an "extra curricular" workout also. Thanks again for the warm welcome, Rashelle.Abby

Hi Abby,

Your courage is so apparent in this message and I feel certain it will inspire many who have struggled in the same way. I am very happy that you took the time to write this. If it was easy everyone on earth would be happy, healthy and fit, but the truth is it takes a personal commitment and the realization that you can do it and you do deserve to have the success that is a direct result of your efforts.

You are so right about the support being important. It has been proven that by being a part of a support list like this you will triple your chances of success. It is amazing what a few moments of sharing and caring can do to make a difference for you and for someone else.

I am so glad you are here.

Take care,

Rashelle
