Guest guest
Thanks Marty, you have been very helpful, and I'm going to keep a good eye on everything, and my husband is done with work until we move, I still have chest pain, but I'm on pain meds, the other thing is my joints are now acting up, I'm haveing a hard time moving around even though I'm on pain meds. Maybe in a few days I'll feel better,I also see my Dr. tomorrow! Shar Re: Moving Shar I will hope also that it was nothing . they did the same thing to me the first round but a few days later just as I was getting ready to load the truck with the big stuff my kids came out and found me blacked out in the truck box. needless to say I did not move any thing that time as I spent the rest of the time in the hospital and a bunch of my friends jumped in and with my sister who came for out of state moved my family in a day and half including setting every thing up in the house so all I had to do was put my play room together later ( the garage LOL) any hoot after a month or so things went back to normal and stayed that way for years. had a scare some months back but it turned out to be my meds and so they were changed and so far so good . just wish I had some dang energy as most days the littlest bit of work tiers me out so badly I feel like dropping and going to bed but i keep it to my self . I just want to have energy to do some things again not much just a little like taking a mile walk and not being so worn out that it is all I can do for hours if not all day grrrrrrr after all I am only 50 so why do I have to feel 150 years old and look like 80 o well that's stills and hard living when a teen LOL hugs the rednecks Marty & G. the redneck's my space http://www.myspace. com/martyg58 Stills ; An illness I know to well! Guest guest
When you move, you have to prevent them from reproducing. You can use an insect growth regulator. So...once you kill them, there are no more eggs or mites hiding in cracks. Guest guest
I'm in U.S. We moved but still have small infestation. We opened dry cleaning by accident from other apartment and reinfested ourselves. If you move, be really careful not to bring anything with mites. We will be using the IGR in the next week or so for the first time. we don't have constant biting though. also, depending on how long you've been dealing with this, they might be attracted to you because of internal infections, mold, fungus, lyme, etc...treat those to gret rid of mites completely. Guest guest
Do you have a steam iron? Start putting steamed clothing into sealable bags and only wear those things. Try the special baths too if you can. Do you have health food stores in Scotland? One thing that helps me is the use of essential oils put in baths too: 1) oregano oil 2) eucalyptus oil and 3) peppermint oil and if you get the mites on head, use this for the hair too. Keep hoovering and changing sheets often. You don't have a dryer, but have a washer - so wash sheets often. Guest guest
Cecilia lives in Sweden and Aggi lives in Germany. They may know better what is available there as well as Kry's Mum who lives in England. I know certain chemicals here in the US are not available in stores. Possibly Nylar is available but I never tried it. I hired a company to do pest spraying and it did absolutely nothing, but now I don't know what chemicals they used. Most companies here in the US do not know what they are doing with mites. The one thing that seems successful is whole house fumigation with a giant tent, but who can afford that? Also if you live in an attached dwelling it is not possible to do. I am wondering if you could get MMS? Maybe a diluted activated spray of MMS might kill mites in your kitty's ears and on fur. From: "christine french" <karmakatmeow@...>bird mites Sent: Saturday, December 3, 2011 8:40:22 AMSubject: Re: movingThanks ceciliaCan you purchase n spray itself without pest control involved?I wonder how safe it is around petsMy cat already thru the wars with permethrin spray!:-(On Sat, Dec 3, 2011 16:16 GMT Cecilia Borg wrote:>Hi!>I think Nylar is a good choice for birdmites.>KR>Cecilia>>>________________________________>From: christine french <karmakatmeow@...>>bird mites >Sent: Saturday, December 3, 2011 2:38 PM>Subject: Re: moving>>> >Dear ellisa>Glad its better in your new place though sorry u got small infestation though much easier to deal with>Good luck with complete eradication which im sure you will manage!>Take it you have been through hell with this as well?>Which igregulator is it advisable to use for bird mites?>C>On Sat, Dec 3, 2011 13:32 GMT Elissa wrote:>>>I'm in U.S.>>>>We moved but still have small infestation. Guest guest
I remember reading that mites are not that affected by DE because the mite is so small. DE particles are small too, but it slows them down and if you take it internally it helps to kill parasites in the body. Guest guest
Hi and everyoneI'm really sorry to hear you're suffering with this problem.. I, and my mum, who lives seperately, have been going through this for over a year now - we are in England. We have tried lots of things including pest control treatments over the months - the best thing we have found to keep their numbers down is dettol or savlon disinfectant liquid, mixed with water and sprayed on walls, carpets, furniture etc - also I put it in the washing machine and pre wash the clothes with it before the full wash cycle - thats helped a lot. There is an ingrediant called Benzalkonium Chloride in them that seems to kill the mites - Zoflora disinfectant also contains this ingrediant. Ironing with lots of steam is also very good for killing them, it makes a noticable difference.Sulphur soap is great too, I use it in the shower and leave it on - just dry with a towel lightly so it doesnt come off of your body We learned so much from this site and everybody knows exactly what everyone else is going through.I haven't posted on here for a while due being busy at work & exhausted - I have been reading all the posts though and have decided to make an appointment with the doctor to see if we can be tested for infections such as Lyme and Bartonella.. It's starting to make sense that if its not gone in all this time there may be another reason it's still here.. In us :0/I have a cat too, she's a baby still at 15 months - I use frontline on her and she seems ok with that so far.I will be moving at the beginning of march, so I am also trying to prepare for that as I don't want to take anything with me.. Just myself and the cat :0)Take careKaz x From: christine french <karmakatmeow@...> To: bird mites Sent: Saturday, December 3, 2011 4:47 PM Subject: Re: moving Good luck with that elissa! Guest guest
Hi Cecilia, I am new to this nightmare. I am planning on moving as an option and it sounds like you were 100% successful in getting rid of these bugs by moving? Did you throw everything out? Did you put some possessions in storage? If so, are you going to retrieve them? How long are you going to wait? Also, the scariest part of me moving is not losing my possessions, it is having these bugs stay with me on my body. I am having problems getting them off my body. I am resolved to shave my head to get them out of my hair, but worried that they will hide on me other places. Did you have them on your body and how did you get rid of them. Just a note, they are on me, but they don't burrow into my skin, at least from what i can see? I am sorry for emailing you, but didnt know how to reply to just this comment? Maybe i will start a new thread with this email? Thank you for any information. I am desperate and a very depressed. > > Yes! > I have asked a vet researcher (who specializes in research oon birdmites) who told me he is sure that they can reproduce also on human blood. Guest guest
You need to catch and identify them. Do you have visible bites? I never saw mites, I saw collembola(springtails) though under the magnifying glass. And I saw them jump, plus stange things floating in the air. I do not know if I had mites as well as I never saw them. But whatever I had was in my house, on my body, and in my car. You need to treat your body or you will probably not be free of them.AandrayaOn Dec 3, 2011, at 7:23 AM, christine french wrote: Do the igregulators in flea sprays help Sprayed this flat with permethrin and an igregulator Bit better but obviously offending nests need taken care of Why do folk say permethrin not succesful Is it because mites arachnids not insects? Spiders died in here with the spray, they arachnids Thanks C On Sat, Dec 3, 2011 12:53 GMT Elissa wrote: >When you move, you have to prevent them from reproducing.
