Guest guest
My daughter will be 30 years old Febuary 3, 2012 and to my knowledge she does not have Lyme Disease, but you know, sometimes you can have it and not know. I pray not because then she would have transmitted it to the grandkids. I have a son who is 41 years old and he is fit as a fiddle (pro skateboarder and surfer)... has been in many skating videos. Guest guest
Thanks ! That is good to hear! I fear that I gave it to my son, but as of now, I don't think I did. Very cool that your son is a pro-skateboarder/surfer. My husband loves that stuff he's been wanting to learn to surf for a while...in MA it's easier to ski with the weather and such. Guest guest
Elissa- So far my 18 yr old, Ellisa, seems to be okay, she did have some weird allergies off and on growing up so one never knows. Dr. says it's a 50/50 chance if the child contracts the infection in utero. 25% chance if the mother is on abx treatment with 1 abx, 1% chance if she's on treatment with 2 abxs. Just heard him say this at the ILADS conference a few weeks ago. I keep my fingers crossed. She is not in the U.S. so I haven't had her tested. I know A LOT of mothers that passed Lyme to their kids.Aandraya On Nov 21, 2011, at 6:47 PM, Elissa <elissarachel@...> wrote: So Aandraya...you had it before you had your daughter? Guest guest
Cool- , about your son. I was an avid skier before I got sick. Many people carry the Lyme bacteria and never get sick, their immune system keeps it in check. Some have subtle symptoms for years and think it is due to age, stress, etc. I don't know if I announced this but I did pass Lyme and Bartonella to my boyfriend. He feels well but he has the classic Bartonella track marks on his back, and stuff comes out of his skin with certain lotions. Guest guest
Very wow Aandraya. I've always wanted to learn to ski, and so sorry it is hard for you to do now. My husband has Lyme and most likely Bartonella too, but he is not troubled by any symptoms... I don't get that either. Son is amazing. If Tim allowed it I would download a video of . He is semi-pro... works a regular job and does skating and surfing on week-ends, is married, no children. Guest guest
Aandraya, That's good news that your daughter hasn't shown symptoms. Hopefully I haven't passed it either. There is still a possibility that I got it from my parents. Lupus has been diagnosed in my maternal grandma and paternal grandpa along with rheumatoid arthritis. My mom was diagnosed with lupus, arthritis, raynaud's phenom and my dad has heart conditions and weak joints. My brother was diagnosed with epstein bar, GI issues and a swollen liver. You think we all might have it I hope it ends with me if that's the case...now that I know maybe i can protect my future kids better and get my current son on the proper diet, etc early on... Guest guest
Elissa- Yeah, those are diagnoses that are often Lyme at the root. I know many who were born with it and passed it congenitally to their kids. A friend of mine passed it to her 3 teenage daughters who are all 4 in treatment now they found out late, and it is a nightmare. But mostly kids recover fairly quickly, even from autism.AandrayaOn Nov 22, 2011, at 8:43 AM, Elissa <elissarachel@...> wrote: Aandraya, That's good news that your daughter hasn't shown symptoms. Guest guest
Good to know Aandraya. I'm trying to find someone who will diagnose/ treat him if they think he has lyme. Not sure if dr. c does babies. Is dr. jones still practicing? On Nov 22, 2011 10:40 AM, " Aandraya " <aandraya@...> wrote: Elissa- Yeah, those are diagnoses that are often Lyme at the root. Guest guest
Elissa and Aandraya,I'm pretty sure my sister has Lyme Disease too. I tried and tried to get her to a LLMD in Oregon (they have not a LLMD in Oregon), but found a LLD who is a chiropractor who was trained by ILADS - sister wants to get tested, but has money issues, no ride there (a long ways away), etc. I KNOW she has Lyme Disease. All her symptoms fit to a "T." I had to let go because if she is not able to do her part I can't do any more to get her to the appointment. My brother even offered to pay 1/2 of her first appointment and 1/2 of her testing. It is so weird in Oregon. If you are on Medicare you cannot be tested by anyone with an Igenex test without it being a MD. So she would not be able to get tested by Igenex. For a progressive state, it is very non-progressive in other ways. It is controlled totally by the Infectious Disease Association.California has quite a few LLMD's so I am grateful for that. From: "Elissa " <elissarachel@...>bird mites Sent: Tuesday, November 22, 2011 6:43:42 AMSubject: Re: Something else...
