I second or is it third the opinion that you need to seek professional help immediately. Guest guest
I have chronic nerve pain cause by a device that shorted out in 1997. The wire was found fused to the device. The burning pain is located along the scar where the old device was implanted in my abdomen. Jack Burning sensation Turk asked:> Do any of you feel the ICD area heating up? Duffey replies:I have not felt anything like that but I MUST tell you this: Monthsbefore the defective ICD reports were finally confirmed, I got anemail from the father of a little boy with an ICD implant. They askedat the time that I NOT identify them in public.Dad says son began screaming... that he was getting burned from theinside of his body near his device. Dad asked, "Do you mean you got ashock?" Toddler responded: "No Daddy... it is burning me oninside... here (pointing to device.) Rushed to hospital ER whereinterrogation showed device had shorted out and was not functioning...surgeon came in and replaced implant. I lost track of them, so I donot know if they filed suit or joined any of the lawsuits against theICD maker.Yesterday... I got a call from Ken-D in Kentucky who is involved in anindividual lawsuit against Medtronic, for a similar kind of situation.Last year, he was shocked repeatedly (45+ times) by his device...including during the time he was in the hospital ER. According to the EKG... for several of the episodes Ken was given"therapy" even though his heart was in NORMAL sinus rhythm - notneeding to be zapped when device fired. Heart then went intoV-fib/V-tach and Ken was then given appropriate zaps... to correct the(faulty) ICD induced arryhthmia. When his device was removed, the "can" was scorched and discolored inseveral places... apparently as a result of his implant burning itselfout. Now... months later... he has (burned) scar tissue thatcontinues causing him pain and restricted movements.So... Turk: Do you have a burning sensation? If so... GET IT CHECKIMMEDIATELY, like NOW. Go to the ER if necessary.Duffey No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition.Version: 7.1.409 / Virus Database: 268.14.6/535 - Release Date: 11/15/2006
Guest guest
I'm still not positive on what I am for sure dealing with. I am the only one in family that seems to be bothered other than my dog shaking his head. In the beginning I itched, then had crawling sensation, then bites, then pin pricking and burning sensations. My kids had a few bites in the beginning as well. I no longer have the crawlies since the cooler weather here. I still have a pin pricking or crawly from time to time but almost always have a burning sensation on my face and upper back. What do you suppose that is? I'm wondering if mites could be embedded there?
