I had those same things in my ears, nose etc.(other places)and the crawlies. After I moved, it took a while to get rid of the crawlies and scalp itching. But it went away - I still am paranoid examining all the little flaws on my skin with my hand held magnifier - I am also scared - but still feel reading about the experiences of others are helpful. I never had any bad symptoms like lesions adn stuff coming out of my skin etc. But I do believe anyone of us who have truly been infested with bird mites in our home are marked for life. But I don't worry about it, I just try to keep my immune system working as best that I can to help fight off anything I might attract.

Don't be scared, just cautious and open to listening to others.

As I read these posts I am more scared than ever. I know everyone is here to help though. I am just at a loss as to how to proceed. I am doing much better and rarely have any symptoms anymore since the cold weather began. I still have an occasional itch, crawl or pin prick but for the most part everything is getting better. My dog still shakes his head though. I have not done any spraying or extra cleaning of the house other than my regular cleaning. I have an appt. to a LLMD in the next couple weeks. Is that going to be enough? In the beginning, I was not the only one to have symptoms. My kids both had bites and rashes/allergic reactions a week after I did. The only difference is that I had the crawling every night for 3 straight months. I could feel "things" getting in my eyes, nose, ears, and "other places." I am terrified of that returning. My husband has never had any problems so therefore doesn't really understand.

I get freaked out too, but then when it happens to me...i know i'm not alone.

Lots of people have gotten better!!!

Things things scare me but motivate me as well.

Just as Doris said...strengthen your immune system and keep it strong!  That's what I'm working on...also start taking supplements if you haven't...

What did you do when you moved? You said you still felt the crawlies and had scalp itching. Weren't they still on you? I've not had anything come out of skin and neither have my kids. I took the advice of others and made myself a very expensive appt. to an LLMD. I just don't know what to do now.

I keep cleaning, doing laundry, washing/ bathing with epsoms, and spread baking soda around the bed.

If your kids don't have symptoms they might not be affected.  My son isn't anymore.

Also, I put baking soda under the cushions and in the crevices of my couch.

I think for your dog, you can use Duatimacios (sp) earth on him.

Don't stop the rituals!!  Your environment with slowly be rid of them.

Also, research Lyme.  Have a plan for when you go to the dr.  list everything you think it could be...and discuss with them.

Thanks Elissa. My biggest question is do we stay or do we go? I keep praying for answers but there aren't any. My pastor says God didn't do this to you and it wasn't anything you did but then suggested anxiety meds. He clearly doesn't understand either. Over the summer I couldn't sit on any furniture other than our leather recliner. I am able to now but chose not to. Does that mean our furniture is infested? Should I throw them out before spring? Since my husband has not been affected he doesn't help with anything and does not understand. I've read articles that state when someone isn't enough they will then move to another person. I don't want the other person or persons to be my kids.

How long once you start treating? I guess my biggest problem is the anticipation of this all coming back in spring. Its eating me up even when the critters are not. Or at least I don't think they are. I really don't know if they are since I can't feel the crawlies non-stop. Even if I treat myself won't the bird mites just go to another member of my family? I would think they would find the next best thing in my house.

Horrible thought Linds... you still have to manage the relationship, do the best you can under the circumstances. I'd be as open as you can be with him, although I know he does not understand. Realize that his inability to see what is going on with you is his lack of faith too. He must know you are not making all of this up. How could all of us make up the same delusions, I mean to a "t." I think your pastor would agree that we must have faith, and that includes faith in each other. Faith has been a real test for me... having faith through the last 3-1/2 years. I don't trust easily, been burned too many times in my life. I trust my partner, but I have not had reason to trust others I've told about this because it is so hard to understand, even if you are communicating about it a lot. New info is coming out about it and none of us have the full picture. 3-1/2 years ago I told my minister and this is what was said to me, "how could this be happening to you and no one else?" Since then I have not trusted much of what was said. So we get the disbelief from family, ministers and pastors, priests, doctors, etc. Even my daughter and son have withheld quite a bit and when I've talked openly to them (they are grown in 40's and 30's) there is a blank stare or silence. From: "Linds J" <lj_mom11@...>bird mites Sent: Friday, November 18, 2011 11:22:09 AMSubject: Re: scared - For Linds - be cautious not scared

No, but it makes sense being that my husband took a dead bird out of a nest about the time I started itching. After getting no where with drs, about 4 weeks later, I decided to research which is where I came to birdmites.org. I realized then that we needed to get rid of the nest he left but symptoms didn't resolve.

With medications you will stop being so attractive to bugs... that's my experience. My LLMD knew that I must get on meds and address health issues as best despite what she thought were mites in our environment, and do as well as I could to change the platform for the buds to proliferate--continue cleaning during this time too at home if you are well enough to do so. If you do have Lyme and coinfections, hopefully you will not have a chronic long term case like I have had and Aandraya as that is harder to get rid of and takes longer, much longer to deal with. It is essential as far as I am concerned. Look at Zoe... and what she went through, but she beat them, her son had to move out of the house temporarily and she and her husband went on meds. Rose, a nurse who used to post here, was also on Doxy long term. She beat them. Marie went the MMS route which is cheaper but seems to work for some too and addresses fungal issues at the same time. Your choice... if you end up with Lyme and/or coinfections you still have to work on the environment. If you just have LD as many people on these Lyme forms have (with coinfections), they don't have to work on environment, not like we do. We are a separate distinct group of people with a specific problem that is more complex. From: "Linds J" <lj_mom11@...>bird mites Sent: Friday, November 18, 2011 11:27:08 AMSubject: Re: scared - For Linds - be cautious not scared

Really excellent advice! I would not move or throw anything else away either. If you are frightened of sitting on something, cover it with plastic for yourself temporarily, even if the rest of the furniture is not covered. See I've had a food addiction, particularly sugar for most of my adult life, and I believe these organisms are attracted to carbos, wheat, sugar, honey, anything like that. Change the diet (at least for yourself). Take probiotics, especially when on antibiotics!

What did you do when you moved? You said you still felt the crawlies and had scalp itching. Weren't they still on you? I've not had anything come out of skin and neither have my kids. I took the advice of others and made myself a very expensive appt. to an LLMD. I just don't know what to do now.

I've been a sugar junky up until now. If I eat sugar my symptoms get worse. Actually, my whole family is sugar junkies. Even my husband who has no problems as of yet. It will be very hard to change the kids. My kids are so picky.

A must.

Put the thought of moving aside right now sincE it is not practical for you & your fam.

It helps but if symptoms are clearing things might be better for good.

The point of going to an LLMD is because most of us have Lyme Disease. They are the only ones that understand how to diagnose it.

Or you have fungus or mold issues...or a chronic underlying infection (co-infection) of some sort.

That is why you should research lyme to determine if you have any symptoms and bring the list to the appointment. Try to keep emotion out of it and present the facts.

Tell the llmd about the yeast overgrowth, and bring all recent tests, etc..from other doctors.

The idea is that the LLMD should know how to treat whatever is going on with you internally...then they won't be attracted to you anymore.

In the meantime, try to limit your kids' sugar\processed food intake. These are things that could attract the bugs to them if they leave you.

Just continue to clean and wash and they should be out of the environment.

Thanks, . I am driving over 500 miles to get there. I've decided even though we don't have any money we are taking the kids with us and going to have a little family fun and try to forget about our troubles while away. I wish the LLMD would have the answers but I am sure he won't. If I continue to be bitten though, how is going to the LLMD going to help?

Proud of you Lind that you are taking the bull by the horns and seeing a LLMD!
