I was on different antidepressants for 15 years. I never had a problem going off of them. If you do it correctly it does not have to be an issue. Cymbalta is the only one that took me time to wean off and I was taking high doses. After 1 year of Bartonella/Lyme treatment I went off all psychiatric medications.AandrayaOn Nov 11, 2011, at 7:28 PM, Aggi Assmann <aggi_assmann@...> wrote:

Hi, I just wanted to tell you that antidepressants are addicting b/c I have been on them b4. The docs say they are not, but I had a heck of a time getting off of them. It took me 6 months to quit amitriptyline and I felt suicidal a few times.

Anyway, if you get hooked on antidepressants you have to go back to your doc for refills and he will be evaluating your mental status and thus you are giving him more control over you. Anytime you get bites, etc. he can decide you are delusional and then tell you that you need a psych eval and if you are unlucky you can wind up on antipsychotic meds and if you could be prescribed Risperdal. It is a bad drug that will make you feel like u r crazy...I have been there and done that. Thank God I had sense enough not to take it. The best antidepressants are good food, sunshine, family, friends, Jesus, the Bible, good books. I think it is learning to live even with the problems.

Went to an annual physical with my primary care today...says no infection just

severely depressed. gave me an anti-depressant. I know I am depressed but it is

not the cause of my symptoms. Should I take it?

Has one helped anyone feel a little better while dealing with the situation?

I have read many times and it has been my experience that some depression is

caused when a central area in the brain becomes dehydrated, it dry's out and we

get depressed. One time when I was in that black depressive funk, I remembered

this and drank 16 to 20 ounces of H2O over the course of 10 - 15 minutes and my

depression vanished. My depression has also vanished by just vacuming and doing

my dishes. One of my favorites was going to the gym and getting on the

eliptical thing-a-ma-bob for 30 mins, great for getting rid of emotional

baggage.

Through mindfulness I learned in meditation, I can some times see my depression

coming on and by just mindfully noticing that depressive cloak, it vanishes

instantly. This is so effective that sometimes I find myself laughing. Who new

paying attention had so many benefits. :) I also have had great consistent

results by mentally taking hold of my breath, (again from meditation) and

breathing with awareness and at the same time inviting a small smile to my face.

This smile relaxes the muscles in my face, and my body \ mind become peaceful

and happy. I have been doing this for years and it works every time I remember

to use it.

Sidepull,Sounds like you are very in touch with your inner life and know that you can change a mood by changing your thoughts. Most of us can do this and this is something we learn when we practice meditation. I've done quite a bit of EFT and that helps to shift things too. Exercise helps and doing tasks as you have described - one other thing that works for me - really helps is the use of fish oil. I notice a big difference with depression when I forget to take fish oil every day. I am also taking lithium orotate... very useful and helpful too. If you can get along without an antidepressant, all the better. I decided to try Wellbutrin to help with my energy and get me out of my funk, but I had forgotten for a month or so about fish oil and I started it again today. Good to hear so many of you are working with your mind.

I have read about the fish oil and depression before and I just have never tried

it. EFT is wonderful. I have been using a technique that I got from Mercola's

website, http://eft.mercola.com/, doing EFT in front of a mirror using

affirmations. When I do this I do feel better. He states that doing this

technique at night before bed is best, gives the subconscious mind 8 hours to

work with the affirmation.

I have been working on creating an affirmation geared toward nurturing my

enthusiasm. One of my favorite affirmations is, " My digestive tract is as clean

as a whistle and full of friendly bacteria " .

I understand...and am ready to get these suckers!!!

My new supplements have made me feel better, though.

Went to my dermatologist today...he is not an LLMD but seems to understand things.  He said that it is most likely not bird mites anymore.  He wants to see my bloodwork to check for underlying infection.

Although this will probably not go too far since he doesn't truly understand the proper tests ( clinical diagnosis) at least I felt better when I left the office (it's nice that he didn't act like I was out of my mind).

I've had 2-3 swollen lymph nodes down my neck for a week.   Nobody will give me abx!!! Clearly I have an infection..?

HI, Aandraya! The private doctors are under the state-system as well, and will not either make the tests. There are no private infectious-doctors at all.

If you get a prescription the meds are ok in price.

Cecilia, you can order any meds prescription-free on DocterOnline.com. This is where I got my anti-fungal and abx.

HI, Aandraya! The private doctors are under the state-system as well, and will not either make the tests. There are no private infectious-doctors at all.

If you get a prescription the meds are ok in price.

Take care!Cecilia

My 8 year old has had headaches 4 times this autumn (never had it before, but her father has occasional migrane) and she gets some few lesions spread out on her body now and then. The 2 year old has a lot of what they say is eczema. THat goes away with a mild cortison-creme though.

I am really scared that the whole family has gotten lyme or somehing like it from the bird mite bites.

I have been in contact with the eurolyme group, and they have given me the info to a Swedish borrelia-cooperation, but they don´t have any helpl. No dr:s in Sweden are Lyme-dr:s. You have to go to Germany and pay a lot of money (that we don´t have)....

Cecilia-

Nightsweats are classic babesia. If you take the herb artemisia annua(artimisinin) Biopure in Europe has it) you'll know if you have it because the symptoms will be more pronounced. The sweats will increase! Yes, sinus pain is classic for Babesia too and fatigue is a given. Artemisia also treats Lyme. The famous trifecta is Lyme(Borrelia), bartonella, and babesia. Do you have anxiety or obsessive thinking type symptoms? What about the crawling sensations? That's bartonella.

Sometimes antidepressants help, they helped me a little. Once I treated the Bartonella I went off all psychiatric meds. It took one year. Make sure your LLMD knows how to diagnose coinfections WITHOUT testing. You won't get better without treating fungus, parasites and coinfections- most commonly Bartonella and Babesia. That's great you're seeing an LLMD. I am being treated and getting better.

So true , I love these little 'cop-out's,'getting out of the house whenever I can.

On the other hand I have also started enjoying being at home again as our place is actually very nice and cosy again.

Things that used to be for granted prior to BM and do feel like sheer luxury now ;-)

So glad you are feeling better Aggi. These strange awful life circumstances can turn everything upside down. Having a nice vacation to look forward to really helps a lot too. Just getting away, even on a short one day trip somewhere really helps too.

Hi Aandrya,

Thanks for your concern, but my depression is also done and dusted. I was only depressed in the very first year in 2009.

Actually, I have started enjoying life again for about 5 months now, which I never expected to happen ever again. Still seems

like a little miracle :-)

Aandraya,

So as I treat with antibiotics biotoxins go to the brain. Do you think this could be part of the reason why I started getting very depressed too? I thought it was mostly things related to loss, but it "could" be from biotoxins too? Just wondering what you think.
