Guest guest
Hi, I'm thinking about moving in with my parents. I could feel some mites over there this past summer, but not to the extent at my condo. I know some of you have said to throw out everything. What about jewelry? How do you get everything out? Find someone willing to pack it and throw it away? Thanks.
Guest guest
Rifampin was somewhat effective for me, I really wasn't on it long enough. But from what I hear Levaquin is the topline treatment for Bart, it has been for me. Make sure you're on magnesium a couple weeks before taking it 800-1000 mg Mag glycinate, and stay on it throughout treatment- take 3 hrs away from Levaquin. The herxes are much more tolerable and less likely to have tendon issues that some get on Levaquin. The herx for me was brutal, but I'm not working. Start at 500 mg a day an hour away from food, after several months 500mg 2x a day. When I doubled the dose the herx was not as bad as when I first started on Levaquin. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I decided to use the Rifampin up since I had it already, so will report back if it seems to be helping... one of my main issues is biofilm, very little strange skin sensations in the last few months, occasional biting sensation on feet, but very rare. Also have had extreme fatigue for awhile. This is 300 mg Rifampin 2x/day. Dr. gives lots of refills if I want them. TYG for LLDs.From: "Aandraya" <aandraya@...>bird mites Sent: Thursday, September 8, 2011 3:51:58 PMSubject: Re: Moving Rifampin was somewhat effective for me, I really wasn't on it long enough. Guest guest
Hi My mum really likes the dettol - she very much notices a big reduction in crawlies after she's used it - I do too. The sulphur soap I buy from ebay - it has 10% sulphur in it, costs about £3.50 - it's not the best smelling soap in the world, but it really calms the itching down. I rub it all over me and dab with a towel so as not to rub it off or sometimes dry with a hairdryer - I forgot to mention I also use head & shoulders shampoo for my hair - that seems to help.I have used borax in the past and that was helpful - a lot of people have had good results with borax.I really know what your going through - when we first got this infestation, I felt absolutely shocked and depressed - had never known anything like this - Did have cats in the past who picked up fleas, but they were eradicated - this is something completely different - and it is nothing to do with dirtiness - this can happen to anyone.Have a look on the net to find out if there are natural remedies for Karma, as they will be a lot easier on her - I don't know how she would take to garlic in her food, but I've heard that can be good for repelling mites.I am moving in March, and yes hoping to move with nothing - it will be privately renting, and may well have to be a furnished property - although others here haven't thrown anything away and are getting on top of the problem.. so I will think some more about that decision.Take careKaz x From: christine french <karmakatmeow@...> bird mites Sent: Sunday, December 4, 2011 6:05 AM Subject: Re: moving Hi kaz Thanks Sorry u n ur mum both going through this Its awful Thanks for tip re disinfectant Will try Were u able to get borax? Guest guest
and ,I remember a friend coming over to my house after I had had birdmites for over a year's time. After I told her about it she said "how could you get that when you are one of the cleanest people I know?" My house isn't perfectly clean mind you, but in her experience she thought I was. So , you are right, it has nothing to do with how clean or how messy we are, none of that. From: " Keogh" <kazk1@...>bird mites Sent: Sunday, December 4, 2011 4:51:38 AMSubject: Re: moving Hi My mum really likes the dettol - she very much notices a big reduction in crawlies after she's used it - I do too. Guest guest
, using Dettol for cleaning, spraying, even bathing from time to time was a big turning point for me. Another very good remedy is using sulfur externally, but even more internally. Take max. 4000 mg of sulfur per day. My biggest turning point was when I started taking Itraconazole, an anti-fungal treatment. I am 99 percent better after 2 1/2 years of living hell ! In my case these were the only things that really did work ! They may know better what is available there as well as Kry's Mum who lives in England. I know certain chemicals here in the US are not available in stores. Possibly Nylar is available but I never tried it. I hired a company to do pest spraying and it did absolutely nothing, but now I don't know what chemicals they used. Most companies here in the US do not know what they are doing with mites. The one thing that seems successful is whole house fumigation with a giant tent, but who can afford that? Also if you live in an attached dwelling it is not possible to do. I am wondering if you could get MMS? Maybe a diluted activated spray of MMS might kill mites in your kitty's ears and on fur.
