That's just wrong. It's an icy 29 here-and windy!

I hope you are all enjoying the cold white stuff - in my little neck of the

woods down under (Australia) - we are today going to suffer through another

hot sunny day!!!! Haven't checked the forecast but think it is meant to be

up around the 90F or 36c.

I'm off for lunch with other parents with kids with disabilities, at a

restaurant overlooking the bay - perfect day for it.

What white stuff? Here in VA, we have tornado watches and rain (which we

really do need). Cloudy and in the upper 60's earlier today, so I planted

peas and some shrubs.

However, our oldest was trying to fly back to NY this evening. Her plane to

JFK got cancelled, she got sent to Cincinnati only to have the connecting

leg to NY cancelled again. I gather it's really bad in NY.

Oh, well, at least they gave her a free room and a meal. ; )

Warm weather brings wandering behaviors...lol. Heard Tim yell for this

morning - he thought he was somewhere in the house. I reminded him it is a bit

warmer and he could be outside. He wasn't in his waiting for the bus chair " on

the front stoop but in the backyard. We had very little snow this year...urgh!

I was so happy to be in a snow storm in the mountains the other night.

Its gotten windy....Kathy told me I'd be getting alot of rain tonight - tomorrow

will definitely be a bad hair day :) I'd rather have alot of snow.

Judi- your stores have shrubs already? I don't think ours have them yet - I'll

check on Saturday and see.

This was the local Meadows nursery. It always closes right after xmas and

opens on March 1-trees, shrubs & some perennials, tho' I'm not sure they

would be safe quite yet given the tricky weather. At half price, I'll baby

them.

We had very little snow this year too-barely covered the ground when it did.

Disappointing.

Of course, now that I planted things. . .

We still just have rain, but it's supposed to get worse later tonight.

me so bad? Ok im looking it up on line. I have heard of it before but dont know

really what it is. Thanks Cat

The weather up here has been terrible. Our summer has yet to really begin. The

barometer is a great way to measure how crappy/better I'm going to feel on a

given day. We've gone from weather that is usual for November, to 25 c...90ish

f...these ups and downs have killed me, not to mention the move and all. I live

in a basement suite, so it's chilly here, and I have to wear a fuzzy to keep

warm...

So, check the barometric pressure..or invest in one if you can....gives you a

head's up.

. it messures the air presure. you can also get them that have the

humity dial also that tells you how humid it is and with it you can also fig out

what the heat index is . the presure one will let you know if it is high or low

, going to rain or be dry and how fast it is going up or down to boot .I normaly

have one ad it also had temp on it but the grandbaby got a hold of it when mom

was not watching her ( happens a whole lot ) and she broke it . it was my

Cold weather slows bird mite activity but the temps have to be very cold to kill them (below -25C I think it was).On 25 September 2011 21:02, alaire73 <alaire_fetters@...> wrote:

Hi Alaire

I know the feeling , swarms & bites .so frustrating .. I just couldn't take it

any more so I just coverd them in anything I had & everything posters wrote

about . Its a bug , they die when smothered . Arm & Hammer Powdered Laundry

Detergent is the cheapest or borax a spic span 1 cup each & 1 gallon of hot

hot water at to dislove the borax while stiring for 15 seconds . Then into the

pump sprayer goes the mix & soak every thing , & rinse with windex water & wet

vac up & dry to a crisp with high heat ,stove on high , gurnac on high , hair

dryers on high , the powder the palce with carpet fresh , thick , daily The bug

will leave .

I hit every bite with this mix for days till it clears up

http://www.earthclinic.com/Pets/dog_mange_cure.html

The mix:

2 tblspns borax (20 mule team Borax laundry booster

16 oz peroxide (3%)

32 oz water.

mix it , and the borax nuetralizes the peroxide, it is painless & the is no fizz

or bruning from this mix & it is cheap.

God bless you Alaire , God will help pray hard He is wonderful

Bill

ps electronics go in a 46 galon rubber maid tub & I gas it outside on the front

lawn with any gas I have . 1/2 can of brake cleaner on a rag & put it in the

box, co2 in a $5.00 rented 5 lb tank from the welding shop with a helium

balloon agapter on the tank to clamp a 1/2 clear hose from home depot for $3.00

, then I slide the hose under the lid of the rubbermaid & turn it onslow for 60

seconds , they all die , but not the eggs , so I powder them 8 hrs later when I

open the tub holding my breath & air it out & move away formthe area for 10

mins ( I am allergic to posion gas : ) )

pss car seats & carpets soaked in the borax & sip n span & wet vaced, come out

perfect & beautiful , it takes 30 mins
