Guest guest
Hi, saw your post about the weather in NH. Curious about where in NH. My parents live in Merrimack. They are originally from GA so the weather there is pretty tough on them. They still seem to really enjoy living there though. They have an " accent " problem sometimes. Mama said that she just spells the words out if she is asked to repeat something for the 3rd time. Maybe it will warm up soon. Guest guest
Dear Wanda, I live about one hour northwest of Merrimack. In the beautiful Mt. Sunapee region, also the cold one. I can't imagine how a couple to southerners are dealing with the NH cold. Patti R. in NH

Guest guest
Me, I'm staying down cellar in my family room next to my soaping room. I have my computer, bathroom, TV and all the fixings for as much soap as I want to make. There are no windows down here that I can see out of, so I don't have to look at all that snow. I'll to back upstairs when the snow melts next month!! M weather Just wanted to say to those that are in the blizzard warning area to stay safe and warm. No warning posted for Onondaga county yet, but I know south and east of here are all in the blizzard warning area.(Madison, Oneida and I think Cortland Co's were mentioned) Let us know your ok as soon as you dig out ! Guest guest
you know it's funny about the chain saws, when Trisha was little she loved to hear the sound of a drill or saw, but got very upset when she heard sirens or crying, she used to rock back and forth like she was keeping time to the sound of the drills but would cry when she heard the sirens or any shrill noise. Gail :-) << Hi Gail...that storm yesterday was very quick and furious...Montyman had just finished his bath and was dressed for school. Then his routine changed, so he didnt handle THAT very well...then we lost electricity, and that REALLY made him mad! He could not understand WHY the light wouldnt come on when he flipped that switch! He started going from switch to switch...I was going to keep him home from school, but I took him, just so he could quit barking at me. LOL For the next few days we are gonna experience fall weather, high's in the 70's ....good clean up weather. Montyman LOVES the sound of the chainsaw's....I can't figure that one out either. Guest guest
I'm not sure we're normal. The only thing I miss in this storm is having Jan home to shovel. She'd be out there all day (for pay of course). My wife went out this morning when there was 8 inches unplowed on the drive. She got to work all right. The plow came to do the drive after she'd left. By the time she called to say that she was coming home there was more than a foot more, so I went out and shoveled our long drive. I got it done shortly before she got back. Some roads were plowed and icy, some plowed and one-lane and some in our town were unplowed (fortunately they bad stretch was down a long hill). I've had to call the oil burner company twice in two days because the heat was about to go out. Saturday just before the snow started (when it was close to zero) the smoke alarm went off .. a burning out motor. Last night it set up such a howl that I had to call in help again. He got here just as the snow was building up. Still, yesterday my wife and I went to our town park which years ago had a rope tow we used on one or two occasions when our kids were small. The tow is gone, but we walked up the hill on skis and skied down .. twice was enough for the day. The exercise kept us warm even though it was 10. It looks like will follow Jan as a big help on snowy days. Sadly there were no walks for her to shovel at her place today. HEAVEN IS HOTTER THAN HELL The temperature of heaven can be rather accurately computed. Our authority is the Bible, Isaiah 30:26 reads, / Moreover, the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold as the light of seven days. / Thus, heaven receives from the moon as much radiation as the earth does from the sun, and in addition seven times seven (forty nine) times as much as the earth does from the sun, or fifty times in all. The light we receive from the moon is one ten-thousandth of the light we receive from the sun, so we can ignore that. With these data we can compute the temperature of heaven: The radiation falling on heaven will heat it to the point where the heat lost by radiation is just equal to the heat received by radiation. In other words, heaven loses fifty times as much heat as the earth by radiation. Using the Stefan-Boltzmann fourth power law for radiation (H/E)^4 = 50 where E is the absolute temperature of the earth, 300°K (273+27). This gives H the absolute temperature of heaven, as 798° absolute (525°C). The exact temperature of hell cannot be computed but it must be less than 444.6°C, the temperature at which brimstone or sulfur changes from a liquid to a gas. Revelations 21:8: / But the fearful and unbelieving... shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. " / A lake of molten brimstone [sulfur] means that its temperature must be at or below the boiling point, which is 444.6°C. (Above that point, it would be a vapor, not a lake.) We have then, temperature of heaven, 525°C (977°F). Temperature of hell, less than 445°C (833°F). Therefore heaven is hotter than hell. Guest guest
, the weather has caught up with us too. We had ice(freezing rain and sleet) on Sunday and now it has been snowing on top of it. Right now the temp is 10 and going down with wind too. we don't have as much ice and snow right here as just a few miles away so we are lucky so far. But it's supposed to warm up later in the week. Guest guest
, I told him you'd escort him to Manhattan! We had planned on going up together, but I still hate leaving one of my kids behind - even though she is almost 23! He saw the skyline from above and was amazed. This is his first trip to the NYC area. He'll be up there alot during the next 2 years. We've had very cold temperatures here - but no snow except for a few weeks ago and some of that never melted. It's suppose to get up in the 40's later this week. Stay warm! Guest guest
I heard from Tim about an hour ago. He's scheduled for a flight home this afternoon- it was already delayed once. My worry is how he's going to get from Dulles Airport to home. Normally the drive takes me 30 minutes in good weather - but with ice?!?!?! They had one fatality on the road to Dulles this morning due to ice. I'm going to play it by ear. Federal workers were sent home early today so folks can get home. (Tim is going to be so made at us) did drive into DC for class and made it home ok. She said the only problems with icy roads were from our house to the Dulles exit - oh boy! And we have freezing sleet coming down now, mixed with some snow. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
