It is hard to say. I still get an occasional bite, but it is very seldom. Still have spiders, but much fewer than before DE outside. We went on Doxy for a couple of months, but it bothered my stomach. Still recovering from that. I don't know how you did it for 6 months. From: "Zoe" <zoe_z3@...>bird mites Sent: Saturday, September 10, 2011 11:48:17 AMSubject: Has anyone else beaten this in the past year that has reported on this website?

Just wondering if anyone else has recovered from bird mites from this site in the last year? If yes, How? Did they need antibiotics too for 6+ months?

I need to clarify I didn't have Morgs and don't believe I have Lyme (absence of

arthritis). But did have yeast/fungal symptoms prior to the mite infestation.

Didn't realize what it was until I got on this site. Still visit this site

occasionally for health related advice. The mites came from a bird house

attached to my deck. I stayed on the anti-yeast diet faithfully for 4 mo. Still

try to follow it, but stray sometimes when it comes to sweets-and pay for it

with rashes later. Treated my house also, and threw out 3 to 4 large boxes of

stuff. Everything else I bagged up and put in the garage for a year or so. Was

90% after about 9 mo. Still picked up a few out in nature after that, but

haven't had a problem for about 9 mo. Always take a shower with tea tree shower

gel, after coming in from gardening or sweaty yard word. That experience is

still the worst one I have experienced in my lifetime.

Great to hear you´ve become well after the birdmites. I think we have too, except a staph infection as a contribution to the mites.Hope you stay well and mite-free:)CeciliaFrom: Laurel <l.santi@...>bird mites Sent: Monday, September 12, 2011 7:48 PMSubject: Re: Has anyone else beaten

I did anti-fungal diet, too for 6 weeks, plus taking Itraconazole anti-fungal

capsules now. Apart from a 100 things I did try, the only things that have also

worked for me are:

Sulfur products internally and topically

Lysol

Isopropyl alcohol 70%

Chlorox Bleach

Windex

DE on mattress and behind floor boards

Predatory mites in the car

Vacuuuming

Im am on 98% after 26 months with bird mites.

Thank you dear ! Tell me about happiness...:-) I never thought I would

ever have a normal life again, but I do now. Not 100%, but being very positive

of getting there. It just feels soooo good having a nice and cosy home again,

not to be scared getting home on the night like I used to. I am still very

apprehensive though. I believe, everybody who has gone through this mitemare, is

marked for life somehow.

For me, I still have very prominent scars on my thighs I might get laser treated

one fine day. Just do not wish to be reminded of the greatest horror in my life.

Hej Cecilia, thank you for your kind words. It feels wonderful living an almost

normal life again. Remember when we first talked I wanted to leave the house and

take nothing with me, told you how I would do it and then actually you were the

one who did it. Funny how things turn out sometimes :-) Hope you will be able to

get the staph infection under control. Maybe the ginger root according to Krys'

advice does it. Keeping my fingers crossed for you !

Hi Aggi and everyone,

I've been absent from the site a long while, but I think of all of you often and pray that everyone will finally get relief and be rid of this nightmare. I haven't commented on our "success" because I, like you, have been apprehensive that one day they will return, and with all the stuff we did, I couldn't point to any one thing as the magic bullet, and as we all know, there isn't one. AND I couldn't claim complete success (if one ever can), because my husband still had peculiar red spots on his neck, face and scalp for about 1 year. But except for that, for a few years we've been symptom free. We tried so many of the measures that many of you have also used during our 2 year battle. For a few months I took Bactrim during a few bouts and then again during a relapse with respiratory illness. It was longer than I'd ever taken antibiotics, and one time I had a reaction to this antibiotic and knew I could not take this anymore. But I think this was the turning point for me internally, and eventually I didn't have any more symptoms - at all!! My husband wasn't too keen on our protocol, especially the internals (but he did take MSM), and he did shower with sulphur soap and use alcohol. He was, though, very supportive especially during the intial phase of our battle, with the pesticides inside and outside and a few other environmental remedies. It wasn't until recently that he finally went to a dermatologist and was prescribed doxycycline (50mg 1xday) that his symptoms have disappeared. He is still taking this, so far he's been on it for a month and a half. His spots are gone, however, his doctor re-prescribed so he's taking another round for good measure. I haven't followed all the recent comments about doxy, but I think that there's not a firm consensus on it's success. But it appears it is responsible for ridding my husband of these things internally. He did not tell the dermatologist about the "bugs." We had been that route before. I wondered if this dermatologist has heard of this, and suspected it when he looked at his spots. Perhaps the word is getting around among the medical professionals now, or maybe it was just coincidence and he prescribed it for a general skin condition, but it's working and so far, he is totally symptom free. What worked for us may not work for others, and on occasion there are side-effects. Our "success" was so gradual and subtle, it was hard to figure out when it actually happened. I feel that after we reached the point when we were free of them in the environment, but my husband continued to get the red spots and lesions, that ultimately doxy was key in getting rid of the internal problem for him, but others may not have experienced the same results.

It is wonderful to go to bed without all the prep work, to sleep comfortably and to have the peace that we all long for when we go through this horrendous plague. And to allow friends and family over for visits without fear of spreading this to them. We finally reached the point where we felt it was o.k. to allow our new grandbaby to spend the night. At first I was so fearful, but she has not had one symptom in the 2 1/2 years we've been keeping her, sometimes for a week at a time.

I pray that all of you will find this peace and be able to move forward with your lives.

Judy

Hello Judy, Many thanks for your kindness and sharing your success story with

us. I am so glad you are keeping well and mite-free for quite a length of time

now. I have also started up a social life again, inviting people for dinner on

weekends or even staying over night. I just thought this kind of life would have

been gone for me, but the good thing about this horrific experience is, that we

do appreciate things that used to be for granted, a lot more now, don't

we ;-)

Take care Judy, I will include you in my prayers, too !

Dear Judy!THanks for your story! It is so encouraging to hear of others success! I guess that makes us all want to keep fighting, not giving up. We have been mite-free since we moved and threw everything away. Just some coninfection that is left. I got Bactrim for a respiratory infection as well (klebsiella that is very uncommon- guess the mites brought it there) and later on doxy for perioral dermatitis. THat might have helped as well for me, with the mite-problem, but I am not either sure. The rest of the family got the Bactrim (only one week- I got it one month) but not the Doxy and they got rid of their skin lesions anyway. Thanks again and take care!CeciliaFrom: Judy Reynolds <jreynolds009@...>bird mites Sent: Wednesday, September 14, 2011 9:54 PMSubject: Re: Re: Has anyone else beaten this in the past year that has reported on this website?

It makes me so happy to hear about your successes... so many here have gotten very nearly 100%-- let's see, Bill, Zoe, Marie, Cecilia, Rose, Judy, Aggi, Doris, and many more. Aandraya is much better too. We're doing better too, but just dealing mainly with the biofilm and maybe co-infections. Maybe Aandraya is correct that if you already have Lyme Disease before this infestation, things get much more complicated...

Yes, the Lyme bacteria is very intelligent and does some molecular tricks to shut down the immune system making us suceptible to all kinds of secondary infections, molds being a big one.On Sep 15, 2011, at 12:02 AM, Goldstein@... wrote:

It makes me so happy to hear about your successes... so many here have gotten very nearly 100%-- let's see, Bill, Zoe, Marie, Cecilia, Rose, Judy, Aggi, Doris, and many more. Aandraya is much better too. We're doing better too, but just dealing mainly with the biofilm and maybe co-infections. Maybe Aandraya is correct that if you already have Lyme Disease before this infestation, things get much more complicated...
