MSM is a sulphur compound. Others will be able to tell you more about it. Many people seem to find it very helpful. Sulphur has pesticidal & fungicidal properties so perhaps that has something to do with it. I'm sure the others will know. Lots of people find Flowers of Sulphur (sublimed sulphur) very helpful externally.

There are lots of things you can do which will help; some things work better for some people than for others. But, you've come to the right place; there are very many helpful people here who will tell you what has worked for them & will help you to find he things that will work for you.

How can I keep the mite activity down if I don't use a pesticide?  At this point I do not use any blankets or sheets or towels b/c the mites get in them.  I have 1 roll of paper towels in my freezer and baby wipes for going to the bathroom.

The temps in a freezer are usually not cold enough to kill red bird mites. If using the predator mites you would not be able to keep activity down but after a week or two (Aggi will know how long) the bird mites will be getting less due to being eaten by the predator mites.

I'm sorry, but can you tell me exactly what to clean?  Usually I alternate the kitchen and bath floor, and spot clean such as door handles that feel infested, etc.  I have still not cleaned out my kitchen cabinets.  I just feel exhausted and overwhelmed and lonely and discouraged right now, especially since the incident  with my foot last night.

For predator mites do a search on Hypoaspis miles (or H. aculeifer). Here are the first few. http://www.biconet.com/biocontrol/hypoaspis.html

Hi Bill,This is what I posted recently. It contains the U.S. suppliers of the

Dutchy's (predator mites).God bless you, too.Take care Bill !Aggi " I am still

not mite-free, but my life qualityhas just so much improved and the Dutchy's

have helped me achieving it big time. The Dutchy is a mite, a natural predator of

the bird mite. I purchased them inHolland, that's why they are called Dutchy's

;-)Tha latin name isHypoaspis miles (which is Dutchy's) or Hypoaspis

aculeifer.Here are US suppliers for

both.>>>>http://store.evergreengrowers.com/prostores/servlet/Detail?no=1>>>>http\

predators would bother or bite you. I did not notice themat all. They're doing

their job quietly in the background. When the job is finished, they will start

to eat up each other. It is fantastic. My home and car are almost mite-free now.

I am going to get more Dutchy's for myoffice next. "

Hi Thersa

I use baking soda puffed all over nice & heavey then rub in to all fabrics & it

stops the bug instantly , they come back in 2 days sometimes . To stop them for

2 weeks or more

1 cup borax

1 cup spic n' Span

1 gallon of hot water

Then drench all seats & carpets , wet vac dry & point a hair drywr at the

area for 12-24 hrs , to dry well

It this is kept up it will kill them and I got longer & longer big free

durations

God bless you ,

Bill

Bill-At first I tried all the cleaning possibilities and it calmed the symptoms but didn't eradicate them for sure. I moved twice but they continued to live on my body. Then I got a Lyme diagnosis and started treatment for all the infections involved including the fungal infections that goes with this syndrome. After I started treatment it took about 9 months to get bug free. I had collembola(springtails) and I don't know about mites because I couldn't see them. Most collembola are also microscopic, but some you can just barely see with the naked eye, better with a magnifying glass. You can sometimes see them jump as well. Gradually I didn't notice them in my living environment, car, or body. It was pure hell, I know what you're going through. The chronic infections have to be treated.AandrayaOn Sep 1, 2011, at 2:25 AM, Doe wrote: Hi Aandraya Da Silva How did you get mite free ? I clean all day on Saturdays.

Theresa, that's a good start. Clean your house with Lysol daily and also vacuum daily. Never do before 5 pm when the beast awakes.Pesticides have not helped me at all, just obsessive cleaning. Sprinkle DE in cracks and behind floor boards and all over your mattress.Wash everything on very high temperature, also add Lysol ! Keep dirty clothes in a sealed box. Never wear them twice.I used isoprop. alcohol 70 % as a spot on spray on my skin, mites drop down dead. 99% even more effective, recommended in the beginning.White vinegar diluted with water 60:40 ratio got them off my scalp.Vacuum couches daily and follow up with alcohol. Ammonia also works, I just can't stand the smell ;-) Windex containing ammonia is good for kitchen surfaces. In the bathroom I used Chlorox.Purchase MSM capsules to make yourself untasty for the mites. I have tried a hundred different things, but these are the ones that have really helped me.

Good luck and keep asking ! > > >> > > >> > > >> > > > Hi folks...> > > > I am miserable and have a lot of questions.> > > >> > > > I am going to try the predatory mites. It would be ideal to clean in the evening when mites and certain bacteria are most active. There are other things that benefit from cleaning other, like fungi and other bacterias. I've often thought it was most beneficial to bath in those hours when these entities are most active--at night. From: " Benton" <sarahbenton48@...>bird mites Sent: Thursday, September 1, 2011 5:49:54 PMSubject: Re: Re: Hi, some questions...

Bill-That's a great question with no one answer. Lyme and coinfections is a very individualized treatment. A variety of antibiotics, antifungals, and antiprotozoals are used, both pharmaceutical and herbal. It seems that most of us with the bug issues and skin problems have fungal infections and Bartonella along with the Lyme bacteria(Borreliia). Most also have Babesia. Those of us who have Morgellons seem to have the coinfections plus mold fungal infections(mold toxicity). When there are multiple infections present they are chronic, and are complicated to treat. There is no quick fix. I am almost 2 years into my treatment and I am waaaaay better! No more insects on me or in my environment. Still treating the infections and progressing. A Lyme literate doctor that can clinically diagnose the coinfections is necessary and with knowledge of Morgellons(the fungal infections) even better. What state do you live in? I can give you the name of someone who will know of doctors in your area.My best advice is to start treating the infections asap, it's a long road.AandrayaOn Sep 2, 2011, at 3:12 AM, Doe wrote: Hi Aandraya Da Silva Could I ask you a few questions ?
