Yeah I'm curious about this also as I believe my daughter is currently getting over Whooping cough. I was led to believe that whooping cough is an acute illness whereas croup is more of a chronic type condition with some children??? Also wondering how one could possibly tell the difference. My daughter has never been prone to croup as it was explained to me, so I'm thinking whooping cough...Sent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: "" <bmandrusiak@...>Sender: Vaccinations Date: Tue, 06 Dec 2011 23:10:49 -0000<Vaccinations >Reply Vaccinations Subject: whooping cough vs croup I am a little curious over hearing many stories about croup being the same thing as whooping cough. Does anyone have more information about this, and is it? I heard if one has been vaccinated they will call it croupe, if not, it is whooping cough....and truth to this? Thanks

I am going to chime in on this discussion since my 3 year old son has gotten

croup 3-4 times already. It seems to come on with some virus that he catches,

but not with every cold. In the hospital they also called it stridor. As I

understand it, and hopefully I understand this correctly because I'm still a bit

confused, croup/stridor is classifying a type of cough in the upper respiratory

and throat. It causes the airways to constrict, hence the difficulty breathing.

It is SO scary. I pray to G_d each time he gets a little cold that it won't turn

into croup. The scariest part of it is that it comes on suddenly and with no

advance warning. The last 2 times my son had croup was Oct. 29 & then again Mid

Nov. I have no idea why they were spaced so close together this time. I think

there were at least 2 other prior incidents, but they were a while ago. He is

also undergoing constitutional homeopathy and it may be his body's way of

getting rid of the illness by displaying it, as his body gets over it. Or so

I've heard. It's a Law in Constitutional Homeopathy and I can't remember the

name of it. Either way it's very unpredictable.

As I currently understand it, whooping cough is pertussis and I'm not sure if

this is a virus or a bacteria. My son has not had any vaccines.

Yes but croup doesn't last as long as whooping cough, so not sure how

they can keep calling it that

remember, they are just labels given to symptoms

again they are just labels but croup only lasts a short time and whooping

cough, usually about 3 months but can be helped with homeopathy to speed

the recovery

agreed, was just curious how the medical community would decide which was which? Aside from assuming that non vax kids MUST have whooping cough because of lack of vaccine and those that are vax couldn't possibly have whooping cough so has to be croup. My daughter spent two weeks with a mild "cold". Unusual for her, usually it's a slight runny nose, maybe a little night time coughing for two or three days and that's it. They are so mild i rarely do anything but use her vaporizer, try to keep her a bit quieter, and ride it out. Aside from the nose and night time coughing, you'd never know the child was ill. This is her usual response to any little thing she comes down with. But this one was pushing two weeks when she started at bed time with an awful hoarse barking kind of

cough followed by that whoop sounding inhale, she did it for three nights, so I gave her a remedy. The following night, she coughed but no barking sound nor whooping sound, last night, no cough, this morning no cough. So 48 hours after one dose of the remedy she's completely clear. I went and listened to the sound files of whooping cough you sent in the Childhood Illness's course. Was identical, but either way, she's healthy and strong again and I couldn't be happier about that! Afghans By Rodinwww.afghansbyrodin.com From: Sheri Nakken <vaccinedangers@...> To:

Yes, that is what they do

My daughter spent two weeks with

a mild " cold " . Unusual for her, usually it's a slight runny

That's great

But this one was pushing two

weeks when she started at bed time with an awful hoarse barking kind of

cough followed by that whoop sounding inhale, she did it for three

nights, so I gave her a remedy. The following night, she coughed but no

barking sound nor whooping sound, last night, no cough, this morning no

went and listened to the sound files of whooping cough you sent in the

Childhood Illness's course. Was identical, but either way, she's healthy

and strong again and I couldn't be happier about that!

Great

Its really hard to say

That would have to be a terrible doctor who couldn't tell the difference between a barking cough and a whooping one. They are quite distinct from one another.

Whooping cough has a definitive "whoop" to it and is also known as the 100 day cough, lasting possibly 3 months.I hope all is well soon. ~ Maureen R. Gradvohl ~ From: O' <paisley_81@...> "Vaccinations " <Vaccinations > Sent: Wednesday, December 7, 2011 8:07
