Hi,

Just wanted to say that you are right Maripi, but the problem is if you use homeopathic remedies from Boots or healoth food shops, it is abit like buying supplements and vitamins from Holland & barretts and Boots own make, the quality is not very good and you will not make much of an impact. Best to get, if you can, from Helios Pharmacy themselves. They post first class too

Interestingly he had 5 or six spots about a fortnight ago that got very angry, his one to one thought they where chicken pox but the doctor said no, then a fortnight later he has them! Hi,My son has caught chicken pox this last week. He is 5 1/2, and first time he has ever had any sort of spots. He is quite happy in himeself, no temperature, and isnt completely covered in spots - but has about 50 I guess.

So I was wondering if there was anything I should be giving him to get rid of the virus? Especially with all the recent talk about viruses.I had thought of Lysine, which I would need to order in. Have given him a couple of doses of LDM-100 but not consistently.

Would appreciate any ideas,

Hi ,

We had this recently and the two things we found very useful were bicarbonate of

soda baths and Rhus Tox as Tracey mentioned. The bicard seemed to help with the

itching and dry out the spots in no time. I never found out the measurement for

the bicarb in the bath so I used to put loads in.

Hope this is useful

Angelle

What is the minimum age recommended for exposure? I have a 19mo and will have a newborn in January. I know I obviously do not want to expose a newborn, but at what age can I start looking for exposure?

One of mine was 2 1/2 when he got it, the third of the kids to get it and he got the worst case, which tells me his immune system was working nicely.

My 12 year old has yet to get it, but I've ceased worrying about it. And what's around might not be true CP anyway, with the live vaccine strain running around.

It's hard to find these days so you might want to grab the opportunity while you can, if it's important to you they get it. But I'd be more concerned about the baby getting it than the older one not getting it and opt to wait.

Great point! I know I sure haven't been exposed for many years, and I'm around tons of kids.

Well, the pox has finally hit our house.........I think it started with me

getting shingles about a month ago. Those are now under control (I was kind of

shocked when I realized that is what I had as I am 42 yrs, not 82 yrs!) and now

last night I was getting kids ready for bed and 3 of my kids had the spots. So

now they are home from school and I am dreading the inevitable questions from

people about why we don't vaccinate.......any suggestions? also any suggestions

for making the chicken pox a quick thing of the past in our house? SO far our 5

month old is not showing any signs...

Thanks!

Just say that you are so glad that they got the chicken pox.  Now their immunity will be better than with theshot.  If you are breastfeeding, the 5 month old might not get them.  Our our 5 month old did not get them

when our other kids got them.  I still need our younger children to get them.  I'm hoping that they'll get them thisyear.  You could try some echinacea.  You could call a homeopath.  Oatmeal baths.

There is a subset of folks on the Twin Cities Attachment Parenting list

(some who are, like me, on this list too) who have been passing it around.

I feel like it's sort of fizzled out. I think the last infectees are over

it now, but I can ask. Chicken pox is not " on topic " for the list (I'm a

leader and mod) so we mostly spread the word via Facebook. I'll try to

remember to email you when I hear more.

didn't reveal it. Maybe someone else knows?

Do you guys have any scientific info. on the chicken pox vaccine and chicken pox for my friend who just wrote me this email? I'd appreciate it...

Do you have anything in your arsenal in reference to the chicken pox vaccine and how it is not good for you?My mom and I got into a big discussion and she ofcourse believes in all immunizations. My husband had one of the leading virologists at a major pharmaceutical company years ago when we lived in PA as one of his clients. This man, although created the immunizations, said he didn't believe in them and his kids weren't immunized. But my mom wants science facts.......got any?thanks
