Guest guest
I think it only matters if you are trying to get true CP. It would be interesting to know, though. Guest guest
Thanks. Any idea why one would be trying to specifically catch true chicken pox? Also, if it was a vax started form we were exposed to, will me " real " chicken pox immunity still protect me? I have a pregnant friend wanting to expose her son and don't want her getting it on account of me. Thanks so much and I love this group! a > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Ask the doctor who talked you into the vaccine.  The > > > > truth > > > > > > is, no one really knows. > > > > > > >  > > > > > > > ~ Maureen R. Guest guest
One reason I can think of why someone would want to get real CP is since the vaccine isn't effective, maybe getting the disease from that strain also wouldn't be effective against getting real CP in the future. I don't know if real CP immunity would protect you against the strain in the vaccine. I think it's all a guessing game but if I had a choice, I wouldn't want anything that originated from a vaccine just on principle. Guest guest
Hi, I'm not sure why to choose the "real" CP other than I think anything " grown" by mother nature is superior than what can be produced in lab. But is not a virus a virus and the body must be susceptable first? Or is it true that some virus are more potant than others? Im also curious how to tell if it is the "real" CP, is there some sort of laymens test to check without a lab culture? My fully vaxed niece was diagnosed with chicken pox 3 separate times (but not shingles!) and yes, she did have the CP vaccine too. So it does stand to reason that there are a few strains out there. -F From: kegraves2 <kegraves2@...>; To: <Vaccinations >; Subject: Re: How to avoid shingles when you never had chickenpox and only the vaccine... Guest guest
Hi there! I recently found this group, and am so excited to so this many people seeking out info on vaccines, and the archives of information here is just amazing! I am a pediatric / prenatal chiropractor in CT, and mom to non-vax'd 2yr old. Over the past 2 yrs I've become engrossed in this subject. It's quite unbelievable how corrupt our system is. The more one learns, the more unbelievable it gets. I've been reading a bit on the immune response lately, and it is my understanding that vaccines only produce humoral immunity (antibodies) and NOT cell mediated immunity (white blood cells /t cells..rash). Not involving the cell mediated immune response has shown in studies to not provide life long immunity (2 to 10 yrs for antibodies, but not really even any proof antibodies alone, without cell response actually provide immunity). Also, by not experiencing the acute infection with a fever and rash, there is no way for the viral toxins to get expelled from the body.. so some think vax'd viruses remain in our system as a low level chronic infection for long period of time. Natural exposure to CP enters the body through mucosa (mouth), igniting a full immune response (both humoral and cell mediated) which does provide lifelong immunity. Lifelong immunity in this case is strongly desired, because contracting CP as an adult is far more complicated. Some viruses and bacteria are stronger and more toxic to us than others, and even the healthiest kids would probably show some active acute symptoms after exposure to CP. The healthier they are, the better their bodies will manage it. Some also believe that having our bodies go through childhood diseases are necessary to strengthen our immune system and helps in fighting off chronic illness as we get older. On a different note, people have been in the news lately sending CP infected lollypops through the mail... I would not recommend or advocate doing this, but thought it was interesting. Hope that helps a bit. Best, Elissa Hope that helps > > Hi, > > I & #39;m not sure why to choose the " real " CP other than I think anything " grown " by mother nature is superior than what can be produced in lab.
