Hello! My name is a and I have 2 kids (5 1/2 and 2 1/2). I was guilted in

to vax'ing my oldest at 2 and 4 months then stopped. Both times he threw up up

ran a fever...not a fair trade off considering those symptoms were worse than

some of the things he was vax'd against. Fast forward about 5 years and I'm

proud to tell drs. I won't vaccinate my kids instead of intimidated. I sign

their refusal forms only after crossing the form out and writing that I disagree

but am signing that I read it. Ugh...I have to sign a form that lists a long

list of possible side efefcts including " in rare cases death " to give my kids

shots, or sign that I'm risking their lives and dangering those around them by

not vaccinating. I know it's legal jargon, but it's still stupid!

Anyway, I just joined the group and literally *just* got this email from my

mom...perfect timing!

" Hey dad went to the doctor today and the doctor said he needed a pneumonia shot

since he didn't have a spleen. My doctor also wants me to get one. What's your

take on that? "

I laughed and said you know my take, but were you asking why? Hoping you guys

can help with the specifics. I've never heard of a pneumonia shot but am not

surprised. Wondering what increased risk factors there might be for my dad since

he doesn't have a spleen, or is it just the typical scare tactics I get with my

kids?

Thanks so much on any details you can provide regarding my parents question.
