There is nothing in Illinois law saying you have to resubmit each year.

religious exemption letter last year at Kindergarten registration. He is going

to the same school again this year. Do I need to turn in these letters every

year or just the years they ask for the paperwork for shots? I looked on the

IVAC website and was unable to find information and you guys are my only other

resource. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I know we have to submit every year for my elementary school. I am in Indiana though. I guess it could be different for each state. What I did, because I wasn't sure, is just not do anything for first grade. They actually called me to tell me I had to submit one every year. So that is how I know.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate having this link to Illinois law. They did

not ask me for it at registration, so unless they say something, i'm obviously

not bringing it up. I think I will have a new on at the ready, tho in case they

ask. :)

That sounds like a plan. I suspect most schools in most states have no clue what the law is and might assume you need to send it in each year. I only send it if a health form is asked for (and last year I ignored both the public and private schools my kids go to, and didn't send in the required health forms--and no one asked!).

I am so tired of paperwork required for no good reason...

Indiana law does specifically say the exemption must be submitted each year.
