Good luck in NJ. Your boys may get chicken pox all on their own when the vax wears off or they can get it from the vaccine.~ Maureen R. Gradvohl ~ From: kcagno <kmcagno@...>Subject: hi new here and question about chickpoxVaccinations Date: Thursday, July 7, 2011, 12:42 PM

Hi Everyone,

I'm mom of two boys, 2 and 4 1/2. We just moved from PA to NJ. Both sons have been vaccinated and now that I have had time to reflect on the whole process we are stopping for religious reasons.

My question is, since both boys received the 1 year chickenpox vaccine will they be able to contract wild chickenpox at some point in their childhood? Has anyone had this experience and was able to successfully expose their child to chickenpox?

Thanks!

Fear not. The CP vaccine is notoriously ineffective. That's why they give two shots now. If you ask a doc, they will tell you getting one shot is about equal to getting none--at least that's what I was told by a ped when I refused to get the whole series of tetanus shots, that the one my son got didn't count if I didn't do them all.
