So I normally order DE online as my husband wanted to start taking it as a cleanse; so I stopped by our local health store just to see what else they had. I spoke with the manager and asked him what he thought about DE and did they carry it - yes, they carry if for .89/lb!!! I've been ordering it off the internet and had never checked our local store.

I asked if there was something else he recommended for a intestine cleansing, he said I could sell you something for $30/bottle but it does the same thing as DE for .89/lb.

So then he gave me the pamphlet that he had with the DE, and to my surprise, DE also works for:

"DE studies have shown that it significantly lowers cholesterol by removign plaque and keeping arteries and veins supple. It also helps to regulate blood pressure. But that's not all, DE contains Silica which has been proven to be vital to our surival. Not only does it make our hair thicker and nails stronger, but if also helps our bodies absorb calcium and phosphorus. New studies are finding that Silica may be more important for our bones than calcium and that it plays a major role ni the healing of osteoporosis.

DE benefits don't stop here. It's a natural detoxifier. It binds with heavy metals such as mercury and aluminum in the body and draws them out for elimination. It's also an internal dewormer of parasites. DE can remove pinworms, tapeworms, and any other parasite taking up residence in your body. The shape of the diatom is similar to shattered glass. So question, does DE work on the metals in vaccines ie: mercury, aluminum and if so, wouldn't it be beneficial for vaccinated dogs? I just don't know long it takes to rid the body of metals with DE. Anyone?

you just want to be sure it is food grade

and it is for getting rid of parasites

all the other things they list? I don't know - I'd want to see some

proof. Couldn't hurt to use it but I don't know how it can do all

of that.
