Guest guest
All, Be very careful with this one, he messed me about and was very late paying up - and that was only after I threatened to fly over to Amsterdam and collect the dosh personally! Bill Employment Hi all I have just been contacted by Dick from Northlandic he needs a Offshore Medic ASAP starting today if possible, any interested parties can contact him on 0031 180 511
Guest guest
I worked a 10 day hitch in the dutch sector last month with Northlandic. Good news was I was paid after a couple of weeks and even driven to the airport home!! I found Dick pretty freindly type of person, though the job seemed more like HLO/Medic than Medic/HLO... I have to admit the setup between the platforms as a networking basis was in my view pretty poor. I felt like I had walked into some sort of barrier system between the medics/radio Ops.... you could feel the anamosity in the airwaves and phone lines...or was it just me being paranoid I wonder? Handover with the medic was pretty strange..... felt like being tested all the time.... in the end had to ask her to let me get on ...or she can stay and miss her holiday.. (it got that bad LOL) However ... the other crews were very friendly and helpfull in making sure I wasn't left alone to sort out problems. Guest guest
Hey thanks Tom! I will look up Raleigh and see what is available. Much appreciated. Just as an aside, can anyone tell me what the rate of pay for a medic offshore in the UK/US is? I have a bit of niggle to move o/seas after I go travelling and am starting to look at options. I am interested in the Canadian area (Excellent Mountain Biking). diver3210@... wrote: HI further to your ad for employment. Guest guest
Hi , The only advice I can give is to keep plumming all the agencies within the oil industry. I mean plumming them constantly. ring every week after sending them your C.V. Only a few agencies will be keen to take on a newie but as I say don't lose faith, keep plugging. How about a bit of info on how to get started in the mine in Australia. I quite fancy a change of climate. Good luck in your search All the best Geoff

Guest guest
Hi Geoff, Thanks for that. After having a fair few requests about this I will endeavour over the nexy week to come up with a list of the employment companies in Australia that I know of. Most of it is Western Australian based so if you want to becoma a sand groper then that is fine. For Queensland then it becomes a little hazy. Also I have had a few people tell me that offshore Australia is very unionised and hard to get into. I think this is mainly in the Bass Straight down off Melbourne. Woodside are a big employer but they only hire nurses. I have two mates who are the medic on Transoceans Jack Bates. I will email them and ask them if they have any idea about this and if there are any jobs going in the Australian or SEA sector. Will let you know when I get this list sorted out. Thanks again Mick Gmed1c@... wrote: Hi , The only advice I can give is to keep plumming all the agencies within the oil industry. Guest guest
OK, sorry for the confusion, I am looking to see if anyone is hiring, I am an unemployed Diver/Medic,,,,,, > > Looking for Diver Medic jobs, commercial diver, american Nationally Registered Paramedic, american DMT. >
Guest guest
Dear Group:I really need a job. I worked for the census last year for nine months after a long period of unemployment. I just lost my very part time job last week (10 hours a week). I have been looking for work though. I have an interview for "Kennel Attendant" for a local municipality next week. It pays well and has benefits which I have never in my life had. I have passed two written tests and a physical agility test. The problem is that I have never been vaccinated and do not intend to be. Working with animals may REQUIRE regular tetanus shots, which I have never had. I have asked what the physical exam may entail, and the office refuses to elaborate. I am not afraid of a drug test, just the vax Q. In the past when I have been asked if I am up-to-date with my boosters, the answer is "YES", because as far as I am concerned, I am. I know that discrimination against a person's religious beliefs is against the First Amendment. What should the answer to that question be if that person wants to hire me to work with animals? ~ Maureen R. Gradvohl ~
