Good grief! And what happens for those who can't afford all these exams without insurance? Seems likee a bunch of crock.Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone, powered by Cricket. From: S <boregard1443@...>Sender: Vaccinations Date: Thu, 31 Mar 2011 21:14:12 -0700 (PDT)<Vaccinations >Reply Vaccinations Subject: Medical Information 2012 This is what the school emailed the parents. Children must have up-to-date immunizations prior to starting school. It is your responsibility to provide the necessary documentation to the school. Current Physical exams are required prior to:1) Entering preschool or kindergarten 2) Entering sixth grade3) Participation in organized sports (a sports physical -good for one year from date of exam) Dental Exams are now required for students entering kindergarten, 2nd and 6th grades. This is a mandated law by the state. Vision Screenings: Children in Kindergarten are required to have a Vision Exam performed by and optometrist. Any child entering school for the first time also needs a vision exam performed. Preschool is not affected. We do give a vision screening to all Preschool, Kindergarten, 2nd, 8th graders, any new student to the district, special ed, and teacher referred students. Vision Screening is not a substitute for a complete eye and vision evaluation by an eye doctor. Your child is not required to undergo this vision screening if an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist has completed and signed a report form indicating that an examination has been administered within the previous 12 months. Varicella vaccine (chicken pox immunization) is required for students who are entering school for the first time. If a student has had chicken pox disease, have the doctor document it on the school physical (those individuals will not require immunization). The school physical form has an area for the parent to fill in the student’s health history. This portion is to be completed by the parent per STATE LAW. Please indicate all diseases or medical history in this area. The newest forms are two-sided, and both sides must be completed. Students are NOT ALLOWED to transport medication, whether walking or on the bus. A responsible adult must transport medication to and from school. A doctor’s order IS REQUIRED for ALL MEDICATION, including over-the-counter type drugs like Tylenol. Medication must be in the pharmacy labeled container. Mature students who are proficient in their care may carry their asthma inhalers with them, when the NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION HAS BEEN PROVIDED. This provision may also be made for Glucagon and EpiPens. Please phone the school office before the start of classes if your student will be tardy or absent. We would appreciate a very brief description of the illness or injury. This assists us in tracking disease trends. Certain illnesses require exclusion from school until we receive a doctor’s note that the student is free to return to class (e.g. conjunctivitis). While this may be inconvenient, it is mandated by the public health department. We appreciate your cooperation. We encourage communication about changes in your child’s health & medications as well as phone and address updates. And we extend our sincere thanks in advance.

What? No mention of how much money they get for each fully shot up kid?  I refuse to use the word “immunizedâ€!!!! esp. when referring to vaccines Had a mom state on my momy’s list about how glad they were all up to date on measles shots when measles came through their town, how glad they were (in some 3rd world country being missionaries) that the whole family had had rabies too when some puppy licked somebody and later the puppy was discovered to have rabies. How glad they were they had their tetanus shots when they were tromping through farm fields… I almost gagged on the ad for RX products her post was.  It is so entrenched.  They’re all conned and hooked with the implied “vaccines protect†but then they’ll switch boats at the drop of a hat when someone gets the disease and then you hear ‘well not all vaccines protect 100% you knowâ€â€¦ you can’t have it both ways. It drives me NUTS> Nita, mom to: 18, Jon 16, 14, 12, 9, Christian (7/16/03 to 8/22/04), 5, Isaac 3 and , born 3/1/11http://momof6.dotphoto.com for possibly current pictures and http://nitasspot.blogspot.comLearn from the mistakes of others. Trust me... you can't live long enough to make them all yourself.
