Guest guest
If he gets something from the vaccine shedding, it's not natural CP, so it's technically not out of the way. But I look at it that everyone my kids are around are probably recently vaccinated with one or another possibly live vaccine. It's what YOU do to keep your child healthy that matters in the end, not whether others are vaccinated. I know it might seem (or be) different because your stepson lives with you. Anyway, I would keep the Aveeno oatmeal on hand, although my kids' itching stopped with homeopathics (we used Rhus Tox, others might respond to something else). You can also have the usual Vit. C and D3 on hand. And keep his nails trimmed. Guest guest
Oh, and why is he getting it at 16? Just curious. Guest guest
Winnie, We got a notice from the school that he needs it and his Dr also said he is due for a booster. I don't know much about his vaccine history because that was his mother's territory. This is the first the issue has come up. We would both prefer he didn't have it and just got chicken pox naturally. This brings up the question- can we refuse a booster even though he has been vaccinated up until now? I suppose it is a state by state thing. The school is very clear that he MUST have it in order to attend 11th grade, but I think that's BS, personally. I'd love to refuse the shot, but I don't know how that will go. His mother is pretty wishy washy and won't protest, which is good. > > Oh, and why is he getting it at 16? Guest guest
He is also supposed to have Meningitis and Tetanus. > > > > Oh, and why is he getting it at 16? Guest guest
Winnie, We are in PA. I will look into this! My step son's mother just had twins and has chosen not to vaccinate (yay!) so it makes sense for us to discuss this. I guess I could pose it to him as a choice and see what he wants to do. Thank you! > > > > > > Oh, and why is he getting it at 16? Guest guest
Thank you Sheri! I am going to check and see what the state requires. At 15 (soon to be 16) I would think he already had the booster, but he has been living with us since age 13 and I know he hasn't had it since then. I need to get his records somehow. Thanks, > > > > > > Oh, and why is he getting it at 16?
