Guest guest
I think my child has the flu, but I am not certain. Its the weekend, and we don't want to go the ER or ER centers for this if its not necesarry, but the fever worries me, today is Day 3 of a high fever. He is 5.5 years old. he has had a high fever ranging from 102 - 103.1 (under the arm). If I am correct this translates to 103 - 104.1 oral temp? He has one pink eye...not really bad, just a little bit crusty and watery. His nose is a bit stuffy, his glands under his ears, around his throat are very swollen. He has a sore throat, and is requesting drinks constantly, which is good. His breath is very foul...thick white coating on the toungue. We did a good tooth brushing and gargle this morning...still very white toungue. He has very little interest in food, if at all. I have been holding back on the Ibuprofen for fever, and only using it, when he gets over 103 (under the arm), which works out to be once or twice daily, usually at night. I have given him one dose of Belladonna this morning, ...today is day three, and the fever perists, which has me concerned. I am also giving him 2-4 grams of Vit. C daily. Any thoughts on this? Is this the flu, or something worse?
