Mercury containing bulb broke in son's room -- advice?

I am in a panic.

One of those mercury containing CF bulbs broke in my son's room at his dad's

house. I tried to talk to his dad about this and as usual I was shot down -- he

thinks there is no danger.

How can I protect my son now from this mercury vapor in his room? I've done a

little research and understand it is 4-5 mg of mercury and many sites say this

is not harmful. I really don't believe it, but I do have some comfort knowing

that it is a far cry from the mercury in an amalgam that is about 400 mg. Anyone

know about how much mercury in a vaccine -- I'm just trying to get a an idea of

the potential for harm here.

I've thought about giving him charcoal for a while. I am also trying to get a

hepa filter in his room that I hope will offer some protection. However, the

current hepa filter I have is broken and will require repairs.

Any ideas? Any good articles I can send to his dad offering some insight into

this problem?

Also, my son said the bulb barely broke and was still turning on. I want to

believe that means the mercury vapor did not escape and therefore no

contamination.

FYI -- I have a friend who's brother is in the military and apparently when one

of these bulbs breaks, they send out a haz mat team to clean it up. I am hoping

that this was because the bulbs contained higher amounts of mercury --

apparently there has been improvement and reduction in the amount of mercury

they contain.
