This second doctor never even saw your son and was second guessing the one who did? Did they give you a written order to do so?

I'd be packing my bags to go home.

And are you giving your son Arnica? That would take care of any bleeding they're obviously worried about. There's nothing they could give that would be better than Arnica anyway.

So yesterday I took him to a pediatrician, not our doctor ...I'm visiting my

mother in AZ, besides, at home in CA I have never taken my son

to a doctor.

The pediatrician in Tucson advised an x-ray, which I somewhat

unwillingly consented to. The 3 images revealed a skull

fracture, not depressed.

From *their* standpoint (I know because I was one of *them* - ER nurse) it definitely raises red flags when a baby has a skull fracture. And it sounds like you don't really know how it happened, you're just surmising. It's extremely unusual for a child that age to fall (even on a tile floor) and fracture his skull. I think that is probably a bigger issue from a CPS standpoint than the lack of vaccinations. JMHO ... Becca

I'd try to find more of this info b/c I absolutely would not do it, and maybe there's a way to put the burden on them to prove that they are not going to cause serious harm for no good reason. I remember this was in the news (in the US) last year.

I'm with Winnie--the doc they talked to never saw your son. CPS is notorious for

thinking all parents are bad guys. That is the assumption they will make. And

they will act as if they have more power than they have. Call them on it. Ask

for written/documented evidence that shows why you would have to put your baby

through a CAT scan. Tell them you've already seen a doctor, and have a copy on

hand of the doctor's conclusions. You aren't trying to hide anything, or you

wouldn't have taken the baby in to begin with. Be gentle, but firm. If you can

research more on your rights, do so. Calling their bluff legally usually makes

them back down.

Right, obviously I'm not huring my child if I submit him to a doctor's visit, but at this point I think the initial 'complaint' of the head injury is out with the old & in with the new, because...

The social worker asked who his doctor was & his last visit; I said he's never seen a doctor until yesterday (she appeared shaken). I almost said 'if it ain't broke don't fix it.' Next she asked what about shots & I replied that I exercise my philosophical exemption for the state of CA (which AZ has as well) & she asked twice " what's it called? " like it didn't exist! THEN she asked where he was born & I said 'here at home.' She asked which hospital; I reiterated AT HOME, & she was beyond flustered. I'm fairly certain that with my off-the-grid perspectives on medical care are raising a red flag & oh yes, then she found out we don't have insurance (the doctor said we paid cash) & was PUSHING me to get answers if it was a financial reason, which I denied time & time again.

I'm positive that the no vaccine issue & no doctor visits are pushing me into the neglect category.

Oooh the headaches these paperpushers perpetuate.

Confirm every confersation in writing. Keep copies of every single document. Corrie is right contact a lawyer just to check where you stand legally. No parent has to have her child vaccinated. Children fall, fact of life. If your child is fit and healthy and none the worse for the encounter with the floor and a doctor has verified that he is well, then I see no reason to subject this child to the trauma of a CAT scan just to satisfy CPS.
