I'm sure the ignorant comments will begin soon, but thought I'd share. My comment is below. I think I'll rewrite it so it can be posted to whatever flu articles I see.

2010-11 seasonal influenza (Flu) update

Published: Monday, December 27, 2010

TORRINGTON — The Torrington Area Health District would like to remind you that this year the Connecticut Department of Public Health has issued a new requirement for children enrolled in any type of daycare. “By Jan. 1, 2011 and each Jan. 1 thereafter, children aged 6–59 months attending a child day care center, group day care home, or family day care home shall receive at least one dose of influenza vaccine between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31 of the preceding year.If children are vaccinated during August with the upcoming seasonal flu vaccine, these vaccinations will be accepted and count toward the mandate requirement. All children aged 6–59 months who have not received vaccination against influenza previously shall receive two doses of vaccine at least one month apart the first influenza season that they are vaccinated.Children enrolling between Jan. 1 and March 31 shall receive influenza vaccine prior to daycare entry. Children enrolling after March 31 during any given year are not mandated to meet the influenza vaccine requirement until the following January, as the influenza season has generally passed by this date and vaccine may no longer be available.”Other important points to remember:This year’s flu vaccine combines both the seasonal strains of flu and the H1N1 strain. The new recommendation from here on is that everyone 6 months of age and older should get vaccinated against the flu. Check with your pediatrician if you have questions about flu vaccination for your children. As we approach the holiday season when we socialize with our families and friends it is especially important that we all are protected against the transmission of the flu. Vaccination is the single best way to protect yourself and those you care about against the flu. It takes approximately two weeks for the flu vaccine to become effective. Download your exemption forms straight from the CT DPH website: (http://www.ct.gov/dph/cwp/view.asp?a=3136 & q=388416)What else is the TAHD not teling you? How about that the flu vaccine is notoriously ineffective? That every vaccine carries the risk of serious side effects, including death?Parents, do your research. Don't fall for governmental propaganda that benefits the pharmaceutical companies and those in our government who are in bed with them. Begin with reading vaccine package inserts: (http://www.fda.gov/BiologicsBloodVaccines/Vaccines/ApprovedProducts/ucm093833.htm) "
