Hi, a,

Going off dairy is definitely a smart idea, along with any other food you might eat a lot of or that you began to eat a week ago. He could be teething, too. Do you use homeopathy? It seems I've been suggesting Pulsatilla a lot lately, and once again it sounds like a good choice. There are others, though. If you sign up here at the OT4VAX group, there are a lot of people (also from here) who can advise you on this and other similar problems: (ot4vax). You can probably get approved in just minutes if you do it now.

~Hello, I have 4 boys (like Winnie) they are unvaxxed also:) I exclusively breastfed all of them, my youngest is going to be 7mo. old soon, I have had the SAME thing you are explaining with him. I never had it with my other ones. He has always had the green watery stools, he was/is teething so maybe that is it. Just keep doing what you are doing, I would definitely remove dairy (or try the best you can) I drink a lot of Mothers Milk tea and lots of water I eat oatmeal for breakfast and also barley helps with milk production. Lately mine has wanted to nurse A LOT!

I wouldn't worry.

Thanks Winnie! I will sign up there. And I have just started to learn about Homeopathy, so I am not too familiar yet, but I will look into Pulsatilla. a Kunselman

Since he is otherwise healthy, I am wondering if he is teething. Does he drool a lot?

I am looking for some advice on what to do for my 5 month old son. He is exclusively breastfed, unvaccinated and has been having 5-8 watery, green stools a day for about a week. They are small amounts each time. I spoke with a lactation consultant who said it could basically be anything from milk oversupply, foremilk/hindmilk imbalance or food sensitivity. I am a vegetarian but I do eat a lot of dairy...so I am removing dairy from my diet, though I read that this can take up to 3 weeks to know if it is the cause. Thanks Anne! I had also thought about teething, because he is drooling a lot! but, he is not fussy at all! he does have some congestion occassionally, but I know that can go along with the food sensitivity. I will cut out dairy and see if it helps, it just may be a while to see a difference. Thanks for your help! a Kunselman

My son always had stools (or lack thereof) like the kind you are describing the entire time he received breastmilk. I pumped exclusively so I know that there was not a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance. The lactation consultant could not figure out why they were this way. He always gained weight and was a happy baby outside of his surgeries for cleft lip/palate. He slept well. I'm not saying that there isn't a problem but my son is now 18 months old and is still doing well. I hope you get it figured out!Best,CameronFrom: shawna <shawna_kunselman@...>Vaccinations Sent: Tue, November 30, 2010 9:39:26 PMSubject: sort of OT..baby tummy troubles

I had over lactation of foremilk and my DS1 never had a 'solid browner' until he was eating proper food. He always had very watery green/yellow blasters totally liquid that would cover every piece of clothing he had on.

With my DS2 my milk was more balanced but then he would only poop every ten days....theres no telling.

Those probiotics are not gluten or dairy free. So if you are eliminating dai4y

from you4 diet while you are nursing just beware you are giving your baby dairy

via that brand of probiotics. That's why I cant use them because they aren't

gluten free & ddairy free

Glad to see you are giving probiotics. I didn't know about probiotics when my

daughter was a baby, and I regret not giving them to her. (She always had huge

amounts of runny poop, in varying colors). Are you giving the kind made

especially for infants?

I am giving Culterelle which says to be a very good one for infants. Hopefully it is! We are now on day 9 of 6 green watery stools a day but he is still having a good amount of wet diapers so I am not too concerned of dehydration yet...Sent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: "vaccinefreemommy" <apmommy30@...>Sender: Vaccinations Date: Sat, 04 Dec 2010 16:22:08 -0000<Vaccinations >Reply Vaccinations Subject: Re: sort of OT..baby tummy troubles Glad to see you are giving probiotics. Cultrelle has whey (casein) and could be aggravating the baby's digestive tract.

I would stop the Cultrelle for several days and see if there is any improvement

-- if so then that particular probiotic is not helping your infant.

Kirkman Labs sells many probiotics that are gluten and casein free w/o any whey.

All of their probiotics are for sensitive individuals.

You may want to check out their website and try one of their probiotics for your

infant.

If your infant is having gut issues -- loose stools -- then I would proceed with

a very low dose of the probiotic so as to not aggravate an already sensitive

area.

You may want to explore consuming raw goat milk; it is the most easily

digestible milk and many individuals with milk allergies can tolerate drinking

it without any issues. You could drink raw goat milk instead of cow's milk from

the supermarket and see if your infant's bowel movements improve. You should

also check to make sure you are eating a very bland diet -- as spicey foods

(even tomatoes) can also cause stomach upset for your breastfed infant.

The Weston Price Foundation has a website which lists all of the farmers that

sell raw goat's milk in each State.

You are smart to stay FAR AWAY from vaccinating your infant. Sounds like she

may possibly be pre-disposed to gut issues.
