Guest guest
I had my baby on Monday the 4th Oct. Me and my partner had already decided not to vaccinate but did decide to allow the oral vitamin K. The first dose was given after birth and we went back today for a check up and the supposed second dose. My partner had changed his mind and didn't want to give anymore (3 in total) as he wasn't keen from the start but we settled on having it as it isn't injected. Anyway this is our first baby and after reading all the sstories about getting lectures ect I wanted to write a positive thing about the midwife. We went in and told her we didn't want anymore doses and she just said ok. I think the look on our faces must of said it all as she then went on to say she is our baby and we have every right to decide what she has or doesn't have. She then told us for her last presentation when training was on vitamin K which she first thought would be boring but when researched found she actually thought babies don't routinly need it. wow a health person with some knowledge, she said if she hadn't had to research it she wouldn't have known what she does through medical training alone. Not sure if she would get told off for being so open but I am just so glad our first encounter with these topics was a positive one.
