It's important that you mentioned both cases and deaths of measles. When one hears "cases" they assume the worst. But, in fact, death is quite different than temporarily getting a disease. Thanks for this, Meryl!

Thanks so much Winnie. You make a good point. Also, you are more likely to get a true diagnosis with death because there is usually pathology done when someone dies whereas a clinical diagnosis can be dreadfully inaccurate as we say in the study published in Pulse magazine which demonstrated that 97.5% of doctor-diagnosed measles turned out to be something else. Also, once the measles vaccine was introduced, one of the criteria for being diagnosed with measles was not having been vaccinated. It is VERY scientific, right?All the best,Meryl
