Guest guest
Hello Eva, When its cold, it can be thick, not as solid however as shea butter or coconut oil, and its usually creamy coloured. It does melt to a gold coloured liquid at higher temperatures. A word of caution, it can go rancid very easily, so check the smell before you use it. Emu Oil which is refined properly does not turn rancid. Well, Naturally http://www.wellnaturally.com At 01:54 PM 01/03/2000 -0500, evaframe@... wrote: >From: evaframe@... > >Hi everyone ! Guest guest
Thanks, . Yes, I met one the other day. She doesn't live far from me, but she's charging a FORTUNE for Emu oil. Something like $8.00 an ounce. That'd be $128.00 for 16 ounces. That's just too much. Surely I can get it cheeper, don't you think? Guest guest
The following url has a way to price compare various oil suppliers. Very useful and saves time searching around. Not sure how up to date it is. Good luck. http://soapmaking.homestead.com/ Theresa in MI

Guest guest
They also and first and foremost kill the bird for its meat just they kill chickens and cattle and not just for the oil that is a byproduct it is called using the entire animal for something good. The meat is very very good and it is good for you too. It is very low cholesterol and fat. As for killing well Plants are living things too just because they don't move around and have eyes and noses and mouths they are living. Guest guest
I am not trying to start anything but I just wanted to let people know that in order to get Emu oil the emu is killed for its fat pocket on its back. I personally feel this isn't something we should perpetuate. JMHO. Demetria

Guest guest
Ann, I don't think so. That was about what they were charging here last year. If you can't get it cheap enough from the rancher, you probably won't find it for any less, because that is where it all comes from. If you want, I will check around here for you. I think I still have the numbers of a couple of them. I would be happy to refer you to them if you like. Jeepers199@... wrote: > Thanks, . Yes, I met one the other day. Guest guest
Emu's are raised for the meat. Not just for the fat. The fat and other parts are by products. Nearly 100% of the bird is used in some shape or form, therefore, no waste.
