Guest guest
The state of land requires a box be checked stating that due to your religious beliefs you choose not to vaccinate. Unfortunately if someone questions that I feel like you better be able to back it up. So having your answer ready (whether it be from the Bible or from another source) is important. Guest guest
The only answer you should ever give is "I have met the legal requirements by giving you my statement." NEVER explain your religious beliefs, at least without legal advice. Guest guest
PLEASE EVERYONE - How can I say this - YOU ONLY Follow the law - just because someone asks you does not mean you have to answer That is NOT in the law for land or any other state other than NY and ? NJ You just show them the law and the law does not say they can question you or you have to explain For land - this is the law - you do NOTHING else - see further down the page for all the law http://www.nvic.org/Vaccine-Laws/state-vaccine-requirements/maryland.aspx " Effective currently: (1) The individual objects to immunization because it conflicts with the individual's bona fide religious beliefs and practices; or (2) The individual is a minor and the individual's parent objects to immunization because it conflicts with the parent's bona fide religious beliefs and practices. Guest guest
NJ is a different situation as I have said - see info I sent and ask advice from NJ Alliance for Informed Choice in Vaccination: http://www.njaicv.org, email@... New Jersey Coalition for Vaccination Choice: www.njvaccinationchoice. org http://www.nvic.org/Vaccine-Laws/state-vaccine-requirements.aspx http://www.nvic.org/Vaccine-Laws/state-vaccine-requirements/newjersey.aspx " A written statement should be submitted by the student, or the student's parent or guardian if the student is a minor, explaining how the administration of the vaccine conflicts with the bona fide religious tenets or practices of the student, or the parent or guardian, as appropriate; except that a general philosophical or moral objection to the vaccination shall not be sufficient for an exemption on religious grounds. " Because they ask to explain how it is more tricky - consult the following for help NJ Alliance for Informed Choice in Vaccination: http://www.njaicv.org, email@... Guest guest
Hi Winnie- My letter is truly religious and has quotes, mine has held for years. YET I am on the njvaccinationsupport group and there are some parents who do not use quotes, they say their letter holds..i personally don't know these people and maybe it can catch up with them..thinking this since the health board maybe had not been by yet to see letter, just the school staff accepted the letter- kwim?? this issue right now is important as to whether to include the quotes, because my very dear friend is submitting her first relig exemption letter to preschool and i don't want anything to go wrong. she has not put quotes from bible in hers. I hope i have time to contact someone locally for help here regarding this. Sheri sent links and i just now need to find someone local..know of any quickly so they may possibly view the letter or we can ask questions? I have read the exemption samples and what should be in there, says mostly it better have quotes in it!! thank you, Lucy > > > >And while I'm at it, there was a woman who posted a huge list > > of > > > >quotes in the bible on Dr. Tenpenney's vaccine site last > > > >spring/winter. Guest guest
I think you are lucky they didn't challenge you because the more you say, the more they can use to "prove" it doesn't qualify as religious. Of course, any of us are lucky not to be challenged for that matter. Much depends on the school staff, too. I haven't met any school nurse yet who truly understands what is legally required anyway. We shouldn't even have to have this discussion. Isn't it ridiculous that we have to jump through hoops writing anything? I'd like to see a law requiring parents who vaccinate to write a statement about why they vaccinate, and proof that they researched it first. Guest guest
Yes, I can see that. Is NJ as bad as NY at this point?
