You could also write your representatives in

Congress, who make the laws that enable the HHS

regulations. What exactly does the language

say? Does the book reference the specific laws

or regulations? You could copy pages from the

Medicare pamphlet to send with your letter to

explain why you think it is wrong. You have the

link to information on the requirements in your

state for vaccination and exemption. You could

be sure and give them that information. Not

trying to be bossy, you probably know all

this. You're sure it's Medicare, not

Medicaid? Medicare being federal, I'm not sure

why Michigan has a Medicare pamphlet. Excuse my ignorance.

So , if it's a state booklet, see if

there's an address for the state agency in the

booklet that you can write to. You could write

your state representatives as well. Without

seeing the booklet, it's hard to advise.

I went to Kindergarten Roundup a couple of months ago. The nurse stood up in front of everyone and said. "Your child HAS TO BE FULLY VACCINATED before starting this fall." She mentioned nothing about exemptions. Even worse, I took my children in for a visit with their new doctor, and the nurse came in after she saw i didn't vaccinate, and asked if I home schooled. I told her no, and she said "well thats impossible, they can't go to school unless they are fully immunized." I then explained to her that I come from a family of nine unvaccinated children who went to public and private school, and that my three children have been in public school since kindergarten.

,

oops sorry yes it is medcaid, but it states that your child is required by law to have all the immunizations up to date, to be able to go to school. and i kno that we can have personal expemtions and relgioius exemptions in michigan, oh and now i have been gettin 3 to 4 phone calls a day by the great lakes health plan about how my child is recommended to have all the immunizations to be as healthy as possible, and that is BEST for her. i am thinkin ha that is great best for her, are you gonna go out back and get some antifreeze and just shoot it in you... no didnt think so.

but yes there is a number and i have tryed to call it the last 3 days and it is not going through says this number has been disconnected, so i tryed dhs to hope that they could put me through but my case worker has not gotten back to me, and i can find a copyright date or last updated date so i dont kno when it was made,

see i just dont get it, i was agruing with a nurse at the dr office about having to get the vaccines at some point in my childs life or she cant go to that dr nemore, and i was not like no i can still come here, and that i have to get her vaccinated or NO dr in michigan will see her, cause that is what the CDC says, i was tellin her that this place can not deny my child as a patient, and then she went on to argue that there is not Mercury in the vaccines, and the vaccine we were talkin about had thrimsal in there and i was trying to tell her that thrimsal is 50 percent mercury and that vaccine was 50 percent or more made up of thrimsal.. but she just keep saying there is not mercury in the vaccines. finnaly i was like Ok.. i guess i dont kno what i am talking about

and then the dr came in and said that the nurse was wrong that they will still see my child even tho she is not vaccinated they will not deny her service that they do a all or none thing, that they dont work with scheudles, cause some parents give vaccines but dont do them all at once.

These know-it-all nurses really overstep their bounds regarding vaccines, not to mention they lie. I once brought my third son in for a checkup when he was maybe 3-4 yrs. old, and the nurse said he was due for shots (don't they even look at the charts first??) I informed her that we don't do those and she looked amazed, saying "well, then how are you going to get him into school?" I told her "the same way my older two have been doing for years--with our legal exemptions and surely you're aware of those." She shutup and didn't say another word about anything. I just don't get their obsession with vaccines when the doctors they work with clearly are flexible on them.

Maybe there is a Vaccine Awareness Group in your

state you could work with. Maybe they could help

you with the Great Lakes people, and you could

work with them on vaccination law reform and to

change the language in the Medicaid pamphlet. It

takes more than one voice to be heard.
