Guest guest
Hello all, I posted a while back about how to keep my soon to be ex-husband from vaccinating our daughter. I was extremely worried he would do it just to spite me. I am pleased to report that although he said he did think about doing it, the guilt of the thought that she might have a reaction was enough to keep him from going there, and my daughter remains unvaccinated. On a more personal note, we are slowly trying to work through our problems and put our family back together. It is taking time but things seem to be moving in the right direction. On another note, I wanted to post about my neice, who just had a serious adverse vaccine reaction last week. I have warned my sister for years about vaccinations, but she has always done it anyways. Her two older boys are vaccine damaged in my belief (one has asthma, the other has recurring staph infections and skin issues), but she fails to see these things as vaccine related. She had delayed vaccinating her 2 year old daughter simply out of forgetting to do it. Unfortunately, on Tuesday of last week, she had all three " caught up " on their vaccines so they could continue in school/daycare. I explained to her about waivers and even sent her one to use, but she is just simply too lazy to fool with the " hassle " , as she called it. Both of her boys had mild reactions at the injection site (swelling, pain, redness, heat, etc). Her daughter, on the other hand received the prevnar vaccine, DTaP, and Hep A all at once. She was absolutely fine when she went into the doctors office for her appointment at 2:45pm. She left the office around 3:45pm, and began running fever at 4:30pm. By 7pm her fever was at 102.3, and my sister was giving her tylenol (UGH), which brought down the fever enough for my neice to go to sleep. My sister said she was fussy for several hours, then at 3am, my neice was fussy so my sister went in to check on her, and she was in the middle of a febrile seizure. Her temperature at that point was 103.5. My sister rushed her to the ER, where the doctor on call told her that it was an ear infection that caused the temperature and seizure, despite my sister telling him multiple times that she was fine before her vaccines just 12 hours prior. The ear infection argument is a load of garbage, as we all know. Her PCP said nothing about an ear infection before he vaccinated her, despite the fact that she received a thorough exam. My neice continued to run fever for the next 24 hours, and then slowly began to get back to normal. She did not have any more seizures that I know of. I lectured my sister about what she needed to do (filing a VAERS report, demanding a medical waiver for her daughter and taking a religious exemption for her boys, etc), and I pray that she will finally listen to me. She was extremely distraught about " causing " this for her daughter, so I hope that's enough to motivate her to change. I guess only time will tell. I am thankful that I learned the truth before my daughter was born. I can't imagine going through that kind of situation. le
