Depending on the particular school district, New York can be really tough to get

a religious exemption. I encourage you to do a ton of research regarding the

exemption in New York, before you write your statement of religious beliefs.

Here is the form for New York.

Greetings:

I'm definitely doing tons of research and that's one of the many reasons why I joined this group.

I came across an attorney who set many precedences on vaccines. It's funny because one of his cases that he was victorious with is in the same district that my child attends school in. The NYS form in my opinion is unconstitutional as many statues, codes, rules and so called laws are. The attorney argued that religion goes far beyond a simple membership in a church, attendance of services, or participation in various rituals. Also, The right to claim exemption from immunization based on religious beliefs is available to all persons who hold religious beliefs against immunization regardless of what any state statute may say regarding the necessity for membership in any particular religious group or church. The first amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibits states from discriminating between people based on their religious beliefs. If there is any state law that allows for exemption based on religious beliefs,

it is available to all those people who hold religious beliefs against immunization even if their beliefs are personal and unique to them alone.

Think about it, if the U,S Constitution state that "Congress cannot pass any law making any religion the religion of the U,S., or take away the freedom to worship as one pleases. The gov't or it's entities can't tell me that because it never heard of my religion or understand it, it's not a religion. Then to me that can be looked at as pushing a religion on me.

Does anyone know of someone who was granted an exemption in NYS?

Katrina
