Legislative Update 3.11.10

HB 1555 was voted on today by the Full NH House of

Representatives.

The House voted on whether or not to accept the committee recommendation

to ITL (kill) the bill. (They typically don’t vote directly on a bill,

but rather on the committee’s recommendation.)

There were 201 “YES” votes to kill HB 1555 and 137 “NO” vote (not to kill

HB 1555). This means that we lost by ONLY 33 Representatives.

Thirty Three! Each and every phone call, letter or e-mail helped to

convince 137 representatives to vote for HB 1555. We will post the actual

voting results once they are out. Please be sure to take the time to see

how well your reps were listening to you…then Remember in

November.

There are several representatives who spoke in front of the full house

today or co-sponsored HB 1555 and they should rightfully be e-mailed and

thanked for their efforts.

1. Mark

McConkey (Carroll)

mcconkey2@...

Representative McConkey was the primary

sponsor of HB 1555. He has spent countless hours with and me on

HB 1555 via phone calls, e-mails, face to face meetings and multiple

trips to Concord. He was willing to truly step outside of his comfort

zone, be interviewed on TV, and give it his all to help us pass HB

1555. We cannot say enough good things about Mark.

2.

Wiley (Carroll)

stephmwv@...

Representative Wiley was a Co-sponsor of HB

1555. She was courageous to step up to the plate and go against her

party’s caucus & outwardly support HB 1555. She spoke favorably and

eloquently about the parents who wanted a real choice and did not want to

lie. The Caucus for the Democrats did NOT release the bill to their

reps…meaning that the reps were to vote along party lines NOT their

conscience nor with regard to their constituents. The Democrats did NOT

support HB 1555 and voted as a party for the ITL motion.

3.

Cebrowski (Bedford)

john.cebrowski@...

Representative Cebrowski was the primary

supportive voice on the Health, Human Services & Elderly Affairs

Committee. He wrote the Committee’s minority report and was instrumental

in getting HB 1555 up for a full house vote. He fully embraced our desire

to have a true option, not one founded on having no other recourse but to

lie on a notarized document.

4.

Winters (Manchester)

joel@...

Representative Winters boldly stepped up to the podium and spoke on their

decision to forgo the varicella vaccination and then having to

choose the religious exemption and knowingly lie so that his children

could enter daycare.

5. Dan

Itse (Rockingham)

itsenh@...

Representative Itse spoke few words, but elicited an audible reaction

from the house. He simple asked if they were aware that 2 of the mandated

vaccines (rubella and varicella) contain aborted fetal tissue.

6.

Coffey (Merrimack)

jenn.coffey@...

Representative Coffey brought up squalene as

an additive and cancer.

7.

(Carroll)

john.roberts@...

Co-sponsor of HB 1555

8.

Barbara (Cheshire) Does not have e-mail

((603)239-8346)

Co-sponsor of HB 1555

9.

Suzanne (Grafton)

zanne1@...

Co-sponsor of HB 1555

Thank you to all of you who wrote letters, made phone calls, came to

Concord, testified, forwarded e-mails or passed out flyers. We could

never have gone this far without you and your efforts. The learning curve

has been a steep one for the both of us. Through our efforts, and

I have been privileged to meet so many wonderful people and have been

touched by so many lives. Who would have thought just 13 months ago when

we first spoke over the phone that we would get so far in such a short

time!

Stay Tuned!
