Guest guest
Becky, I'm sorry about your painful LP. My daughter had one, too at age 8 or 9. She wasn't sedated, and didn't feel any pain either. I wonder if you had a lot of pressure that made it more painful? Obviously, they didn't numb you properly. Isn't it amazing what a difference one Doc can make? That being said, I would never want to go through childbirth again!!! Sandi
Guest guest
Dear , It certainly can be indicative of MS (not sure about Guillain-Barre) But there are other factors as well. I happen to know a lot about MS, so if you or your patient wish - you may contact me directly. My clinic number is (503)223-3826. Sincerely, Matt Terreri, DC Spinal tap Hi All, I have a 41 year old female pt whom I've been treating for MVA injuries. Her neurologist recently ordered a spinal tap to rule out MS and subarachnoid hemorrhage for other symptoms. The only abnormal finding was high protein of 49, (RR is 15-45). Could this slightly elevated level be associated with MS or perhaps Guillain-Barre? Robins, DC OregonDCs rules: 1. Guest guest
Hi , The tap is odd given what you describe. SAR is characterized by sudden onset of a horrible headache, and if MS is an issue (and it is a great mimicker of other problems) then why not order an MRI of the brain and cord, as it is not invasive and can rule out other conditions? Either there is more going on or the neurologist ordered an unnecessarily invasive and overly specific test, IMO. Guest guest
Good luck today with the spinal tap. My child Lily always has headaches and sore neck (but it's usually because her lymph nodes are so swollen that her whole neck hurts) with her episodes. d Timblin mdefaye@... Guest guest
My son Mason also gets bad headaches and very sore neck ... I think his neck mostly hurts from the swollen lymph nodes and/or when his throat gets so sore. He generally has migraine like symptoms ... can't stand the lights and the noise. Good luck with the spinal tap ... sounds scary! Hope it goes well. Heidi > Well we are getting ready to go to the ER for a spinal tap. They always say he's fine and does not have menegitis. Good luck with spinal tap - keep us posted. Guest guest
does get bad headaches, the id at children's thought that maybe his fever triggers a migraine and that is why the light bothers him. hmmmm......his neck get sore also, however it is more on the sides where his glands are. Sometimes I can see them popping out, I call them his enstein neck. 's headache's became worse as time went on compared to his early years. Guest guest
So my friend- who fully vaccinates- said her baby was in the hospital a few weeks ago because she had a fever that wouldn't go down and was really sick, they had to do a spinal tap and all that, her point was that " see, I'm so glad she's vaccinated, otherwise they would have had to run so many more tests on her..... " BUT, since vaccines aren't 100%, even if you are fully vaccinated, wouldn't they still need to run the same amount of tests either way???? Guest guest
What did they find though the spinal tap test? Guest guest
yeah, another example of distorted thinking. what did they determine it was? how old is the baby? vaccines recently? Guest guest
How old is the baby? and yeah, they’d run tests either way, they just would have put on a guilt trip too if the baby was unvaxxed and said ‘see!” Nita, and my crew: 16, Jon 15, 12, 10, 8, Christian (RIP: 7/16/03 to 8/22/04), 4 and Isaac, 1 http://momof6.dotphoto.com for not necessarily current pictures http://nitasspot.blogspot.com I'm like a snapdragon: half of me has snapped and the other is draggin'
Guest guest
6 months, obviously vaccines recently!!! Found NOTHING from the spinal tap and labs but put her on a high dose antiobitic. I was going to hint to the mother that it's OBVIOUSLY from the vaccines, but she might have cancer and they have a lot going on so, so she just needed someone to listen. Good News is that the baby is back home and happy and better now, such a cute baby! > >So my friend- who fully vaccinates- said her baby was in the > >hospital a few weeks ago because she had a fever that wouldn't go > >down and was really sick, they had to do a spinal tap and all that, > >her point was that " see, I'm so glad she's vaccinated, otherwise > >they would have had to run so many more tests on her..... I understand but baby is not better (baby has had whatever was going on suppressed with antibiotics and tylenol and the emotional trauma of it all) and more vaccines to come.
