Guest guest
You don’t necessarily have to have a birth plan b/c there are so many people who will need to read it etc etc and it just gets crazy.. that is why some people do homebirth.. however, I think the most effective thing I found to do was after the baby slid out.. have your dh follow that baby everywhere! Don’t have it leave your or his sight, goes to the nursery, have daddy follow baby to nursery. Don’t turn away or leave the room.. it only takes a few seconds of ‘oh, that’s standard protocol’.. and with Christian, we had refused the vax before birth but by the time he was born, different nurses.. they gave him the shot and then tried to get me to sign consent and tried to cover it up with ‘that’s how it’s done’.. NO I don’t think so… should have heard dh roar off the little cot.. you can’t trust them. Guest guest
Hi VK, Congratulations! I have written a birth plan for my last 3 births. I would definately recommend it. I agree, keep it short. Make copies: one to give the staff to go into your chart, one to tape onto the baby's bassinette (whether you keep him or her in it during you stay or not) and one for yourself. It is a good idea to have so there are less chances of something happening that you don't want. Also, if you cannot speak for yourself and need your husband or support person needs to speak for you, your plan is there in writing in case he is focusing on you and might forget something. He can read it over and stand up for you and the baby. It's best to be prepared to help the process go smoothly for all of you. Best of luck to you for a wonderful birth and healthy baby! > > i have but 4-5 weeks away from the birth of my 3rd child and there are things i am wanting to do differently....will i need to have a birthing plan in place, i live in indiana...my main concern is vaccines but i really am concerned about my baby and the way of the world today...so if i would like specifics about what happens to our child regarding her release will i need to have this in writing... > > thanks > > vk >
