Guest guest
I definitely think he should be making money... but he sold his home in the UK for a million dollars... and he is the head of a charity.. I have heard many of us say we would not support the united way, or red cross or whoever b/c of the salary they make, when it's supposed to be a charity.... by the way I am a huge Wakefield supporter and was amazed at him when I saw him at the vaccine conference. Guest guest
Why the hell is it our business how much he makes? And how does that compare to the salary he was getting as a top gastroenterologist in the UK? For goodness sake! Anything pales into insignificance compared with Offit's 30 million from the rotavirus vaccine. People are grasping at straws to try and bring this man down - please don't join the crowd and buy into the crap. Guest guest
How much did each of the GMC members make? On 's Sicko they followed a UK doctor around and he made something like 150,000 pounds just as a GP (and that is $240,000 or more) Sheri At 03:50 PM 1/29/2010, you wrote: Why the hell is it our business how much he makes? Guest guest
Exactly! I have no problem with paying people who actually WORK and PRODUCE results. Once, in an ARD, when discussing the results of testing from an outside speech pathologist, the school principal said to me " You have to be careful because she gets paid to treat children and may just want your business " . I looked at her and said, " Well, first of all, her report identifies many of the same problems as the Developmental Pediatricien and the School's own testing, so I would say here testing is accurate. Secondly, we all get paid to work. You get paid to be a principal, I get paid to be an airline pilot. None of us do WORK for free or should be expected to provide our special skills for free " . She also gave me the standard line about cadillac vs chevy education... I just looked at her and told her not to insult me again as nicely as I could muster. After that, her attitude toward me did change somewhat for the better, and we actually found ways to work together, with her even overriding the special ed specialist on more than one occasion. > > > > > > > I had a response to a re-post from Tina on my facebook page.... the > > person posting said he obviously is in it for money and provided this > > article ... > > > > http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/health/article7007224.ece > > > > it says that Wakefield moved to TX and is now receiving $270k a year as a > > salary. > > > > any ideas how to respond? > > > > Holly > > > > > > > > > > > > -- > Tina D.
