Guest guest
If it were my FIL.......sorry, I love you, I have so much respect for you, but..... This is my body, my baby, my decision. He has his own body, had his chance to make decisions for his kids, now it's your turn. I was offered the flu vax during my last two pregnancies. I am so glad I said no. The thought of never seeing either of my two daughters or knowingly harming them is unthinkable. I've never had the flu vax and until this year never tested positive for flu. In 1998 I nursed my dh and 6yods thru the flu while pregnant and didn't even get a sniffle. This year I wasn't so lucky, got the flu while pregnant but didn't die nor was my baby affected. There is nothing anyone could say that would ever convince me to get any kind of vax ever again, 10 years ago, tetnas after a hand injury, dumb dumb, dumb of me, that was my last. I refuse to debate with anyone about another vax for me or my family, would be a huge waste of time for all and the days are too short to waste a minute. This probably didn't help at all but I am amazed at the number of people who are willing to debate their own healthcare when they have done the research and made up their mind. Is there a chance that he could convince you to get the vax? That would worry me more than insulting him or hurting his feelings. Does your dh support your decision?Toni Sent from my iPhoneNmidaughterseyes@...On Nov 20, 2009, at 10:33 AM, Agatha Dziedziech <adziedziech@...> wrote: I need some help on how to answer why I am not getting the swine flu vaccine which is mercury free since I am pregnant. Guest guest
you know what, this is YOUR decision not his and it is YOUR baby not his. You are looking out for the best interest for you and your baby and simply that does NOT have to be up for discussion. Maybe just say it's something that you do not want to discuss or that it's a religious decision or private whatever, just know that you are doing the very best for you baby in NOT vaccinating. Guest guest
Dr. Blaylock, a neurosurgeon and researcher, did this amazing interview on why a pregnant woman should never get the flu shot. He's got all the science from peer-reviewed medical journals, CDC and NIH backing up what he says. It's an excellent interview. Send him this link: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/11/03/What-We-Have-Learn\ ed-About-the-Great-Swine-Flu-Pandemic.aspx Jane Healthy Child http://www.healthychild.com > > > I need some help on how to answer why I am not getting the swine flu vaccine which is mercury free since I am pregnant.  Can someone please send me the package insert which lists the ingredients? > Also, how else would you debate why I should not get the vaccine.  All the information I have saved is from women miscarrying after they have received the vaccine, but it does not specify if it was mercury free. > A little background, my father in law, who was a past CEO of a pharma company, is bombarding me with emails saying how he spoke to a fellow CEO and how important it is to get the vaccine.  I will be getting into a debate with him over TG and I need to be well prepared. > Thanks, aggie > > > > > > Switch to: Text-Only, Daily Digest • Unsubscribe • Terms of Use > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > . >
Guest guest
Delete the emails and refuse to discuss it with your FIL. You can do it nicely. Just smile and say "I've decided not to discuss my medical decisions with anyone and just want to enjoy visiting now." If you don't speak past that, he can't carry on a conversation with you. As for the mercury-free vaccine question, I'm not sure what you mean. Are you wondering why you can't get one, or are you wondering how to explain why you're not getting it since a mercury-free one was offered to you (which I understand is NOT being offered to pregnant women)? Guest guest
Hi Aggie, http://www.fda.gov/BiologicsBloodVaccines/Vaccines/ApprovedProducts/ucm181950.ht\ m Here are links to all the inserts for different versions here, note that although manufactured " mercury free " still contains trace amounts of mercury, most of which were removed....? Double speak? From the first one, " Use in specific populations " on page 2 states " safety and effectiveness ....have not been established in pregnant women.... " also see page 12: " ...not known whether...can cause fetal harm... " I don't have time to dissect it all, you can do as well if not better than I :-) There's plenty of ammunition/information in there, and it's right from the pharma horse's mouth, so to speak. Only for your own peace of mind. I'm sure they will have arguments against all you can bring them.
Guest guest
There are a slew of reasons why: other toxic ingredients, the fact that those who promote vaccines used to think mercury was safe, too (and still do), the possibility of a hot lot, risk of serious side effects including death from ANY vaccine. You won't win against a nurse. I'm not sure how she is able to get you a mercury-free one when that is not recommended for pregnant women, just children and it's always in short supply anyway. Is she skirting the rules? Here's the link for all package inserts: (http://www.vaccinesafety.edu/package_inserts.htm) Winnie A family member is a nurse and she is able to get me the mercury-free version of the swine flu vaccine...which I said thanks, but no thanks.
