Guest guest
A friend just passed this along from a NY "health system"/hospital: DATE: October 22, 2009 SUBJECT: Flu Vaccination Update I’m pleased to report that more than 75 percent of our employees have already been vaccinated against the seasonal flu vaccine, including 87 percent of (Blankety Blank) Hospital, which was at the epicenter of the H1N1 flu outbreak last spring and early last summer. From April 24 through July 31, more than 12,500 patients (mostly children) with flu symptoms jammed our emergency departments, resulting in many of our front-line care givers getting sick during that period. In light of what happened earlier this year, I can’t impress upon you enough the need to take the necessary precautions as we head into another flu season. We’ve all heard about the state mandate – currently on hold, at least temporarily, as a result of the recent court order – requiring all health care workers to get vaccinated against the seasonal and H1N1 flu. We prefer that you make an educated, informed decision to get vaccinated because you understand the need to protect yourself, your family and our patients. As we learned earlier this year, both the seasonal and H1N1 flu viruses are serious illnesses and should not be taken lightly. Understandably, many of you have questions about the H1N1 flu and vaccine. That’s why we want to provide you with as much information as possible about the illness and vaccine. We have also created a list of “Frequently Asked Questions” that we hope will answer your questions. Over the coming weeks, we will be holding educational sessions at each of our facilities. Please take the time to educate yourself and your loved ones about the dangers of the flu and the benefits of getting vaccinated. (Blankety Blank) Hospital has received a limited supply of the H1N1 vaccine and will be distributing it based on guidelines developed by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In the meantime, we will continue to offer free seasonal flu shots in the weeks ahead for as long as our supplies last, so please make arrangements to receive your flu vaccine soon if you haven’t already done so. As always, thank you for your professionalism and cooperation.
Guest guest
Their ‘educated, informed decision to vaccinate’ being to go ahead and get the shot. It won’t be deemed informed or educated if the staff doesn’t. what a crock Nita (crew chief) and the crew: 16, Jon 14, 12, 10, 7, Christian (7/16/03 to 8/22/04), 3 and Isaac, 1 http://momof6.dotphoto.com for not necessarily current pictures http://nitasspot.blogspot.com Learn from the mistakes of others. Trust me... you can't live long enough to make them all yourself.
