The collembolla were in my keyboard and cell phone. I would be afraid to put any type of mite in here. It might like me. I could

Sorry to hear about that mites are bothering you, . It is "living hell". Many of us here have the biggest problems in the scalp, so that is not uncommon, even though you also mostly have problems elsewhere too. Do you have lesions/bite on your body as well. I can feel them hop on my scalp from different objects in my house. Yes, when they first started they were jumping like mites on top of my head wildly. Now they aren't so wild, but they try to burrow into my scalp. Very weird. I used to be a normal person...

Cecilia and family live in Sweden and people all around the world are being afflicted by mites. They have done a great job getting pretty well, but they had to sell their house and they did get rid of everything they owned. Others, like Doris, did the same thing. All I can say when you talk about 'jumping' it really feels that way, but mine

were mites, dropping down from ceilings or other objects. I never found

springtails. I also had the feeling of burrowing on my scalp. The only thing

that helped there was concentrated vinegar, I diluted 50:50 with water and

sprayed it on my scalp twice a day. The burrowing, nagging feeling stopped

within one week. What a relief that was. I still get mites in my hair, but they

do not burrow any longer. I think a simple explanation when dealing with bird

mites is the fact, that BM's live in the feathers of birds and that the hair

structure is similar to feathers. They just look for protection.

I've been using straight tea tree oil during the day and neem oil at night before bed, which seems to be helping.  I'm also taking invermectin.  I found a menthol eucalyptus and thymol linament to spray while I was cleaning out a bathroom cabinet and that is helping too.  It contains alcohol also.  I just tried to spray a ceiling, but got as much on myself as I did the ceiling.  How do you spray the ceiling?  I am short - 5'2 " .  I have 1 wooden stool left which is about 2', so that would put me up to about 5'4 " .

I use one cup of Lysol Complete Clean (best price at Lowes) to a gallon of hot water in a garden sprayer. I pump it and mist the ceilings, walls, rugs, and furniture. No problem reaching it as the sprayer is powerful. No ladder. Then I wipe the furniture down with a dry rag.

Look in the garden supplies. Don't buy the cheapest one as it will break easily. I usually pay just under 20$ for a Round up garden sprayer.

I feel very loopy after spraying earlier with the IGR.  Thank God I am off tonight.  As I sprayed the ceiling a lot of it got on me.  I'm waiting for my clothes in the dryer to finish so I can get a bath.  As soon as I can get a shower curtain that I bring home and is not infested I'm going to put that up.  I live in Richmond, VA and Hurricaine Irene has been blowing this way.  My mother and brother lost their power at 5:30 p.m. -- so thankful I still have power.

Look in the garden supplies.  Don't buy the cheapest one as it will break easily.  I usually pay just under 20$ for a Round up garden sprayer.

I'd get a garden sprayer - yes, I found that eucalyptus, tea tree oil and oregano oil work really well on the scalp and seem to kill this pest. The garden sprayer is the hand held pump type. It does not attach to anything.

Hi Guys, Just wanted to send my love to all of you as well !

I certainly wouldn't be on this earth anymore without this group.

Been highly suicidal for about 1 year. Been fighting these bird mite monsters

for about 22 months now and have almost got my home and car mite free, last

battlefield will be the office though, which seems to be the hardest because of

the carpet. Let us all keep helping each other, since the mental support is just
