Guest guest
Yes, Doris, that's me, and Cecilia have lived through the hell and survived only by moving and throwing everyrrrrything out. It was worth it, within a few weeks, I began to heal up and sleep all through the night and now I dare to wear the same pants and shirt more than once! No more washing sheets and quilts every day - no more poisons. I don't feel them in my ears anymore! When you feel like really giving up, at least, move out for a period of time to begin the healing. I know my thinking wasn't even clear when I was under seige. Yes we have all had the scalp problems, it seems it's the last thing to go away. From: "Goldstein@..." <Goldstein@...>bird mites Sent: Thursday, August 25, 2011 11:28 AMSubject: Re: Re: What type of mite prefers your scalp? I cannot see them whlile alive, but they are small white oval round things about the size of a period that come off my scalp after using hand sanitizer. This happened almost simultaneously or shortly after I had gotten headlice from some bedsheets that I got from my mother where my neices had slept (in the same room). I put the sheets in my car that fateful day in the back seat with no bag and drove home and later put them on the bed. I had a really bad infestation shortly after with things flying in the air but could not actually see anything I guess because it was mostly at night. So, I don't think this is the Northern mite -- my guess is either the red mite or something else. I did see some red mites on my porch early spring and also in my mother's back yard before any of this happened. There are a few more details -- last winter I made a cat house for my mother's ferral cats and put some really sticky straw in the trunk of my car. I wonder if that isn't where it started? I no longer drive my car -- it is too infested. I ripped out my carpet 2 months ago in my 1 story condo, but still things are not right. Has anyone had a similar experience where the mites go directly to your scalp and feel like rock candy stuck on? I used some Neem oil yesterday which seemed to help, but of course they get back on now. I just try different things. They also get under my toenails and I feel pinprick bites among other things. Guest guest
It helps because they're also in the environment because there is some mold infestation which is virtually impossible to eradicate. Guest guest
Since I moved I'll never know if I could have eradicated it or not. I packed away all my clothes that weren't contaminated. I moved in with my parents and my belongings stayed in storage for nearly a year. In fact, I just recently moved again and unpacked and have no mold or bugs on my things. I wore only fabrics that the organisms couldn't attach to- nylon, smooth polyesters, leather, lycra, vinyl, etc. I slept with a nylon shower curtain and nylon inside and out sleeping bag. Today I am able to wear cotton and all fabrics again, thank god! I threw out much of my clothes. One of the organisms likes cotton and would attach to clothing fibers and embed in my skin, It was so bizzare!!AandrayaOn Aug 25, 2011, at 9:12 PM, s.jay8383 wrote: Are you saying that you were never able to eradicate the mold infestation? Guest guest
Oh so sad Krys. Is this the house you grew up in too? But, I do believe it will help her in the long run... as you get older I think it is so hard to keep up with all that this condition requires us to do to get 95% better. I doubt if anyone gets 100% - oh except Marie who said she is 100%. Not even Zoe is 100% after everything she and her hubby did. My doctor told me she could get me to about 98%. I'm maybe at 95% right now. Nothing in storage bothers me for example. But I do go through my ups and downs with the internal. Still struggle with that. From: "Krys Brennand" <krys109uk@...>bird mites Sent: Friday, August 26, 2011 6:53:43 AMSubject: Re: Re: move away from the mites when nothing else works Hi Cecilia,Things still going well for your girls? Guest guest
Did you get all new furniture too? Alot of our increased wellness from the house has come from throwing tons of stuff out; new sofa, new chairs, new this and that. Not to say we don't have these floaters in the environment, we do, but some sources have been eliminated. I'd throw out underwear and sox often since those are inexpensive and bought new over and over again. Guest guest
Hi , No, I didn't grow up in that house; we moved quite a few times as I grew up. I think my mother & step father have been there for about 20 years. While, thanks to people here, my mother & step father have much better control on things, I hope she can move soon as I think it will be much better for both my mum & step dad as they will have a fighting chance of really stopping things getting a hold on a new place. Mother says she can only wear wooden sandals because the fungus is so bad on her feet & she can't seem to shift it; I think she may have those feather winged beetles as her feed are terrible with bites. As a consequence of wearing wooden sandals at nearly 74 years old she fell down some steps & badly hurt her ankle to the point it is black & blue & swollen from her knee to the end of her toes! However, she won't go to the hospital because she doesn't want a bandage or plaster put on her leg because of the mites. RegardsKrysOn 26 August 2011 10:00, <Goldstein@...> wrote: Oh so sad Krys. Guest guest
We had some, pink, what I think might be some kind of slime mould which Lysol didn't seem to move. We bought some specialist mould & mildew remover from a hardware shop (we got ours at Menards) which did the trick. There were also products which purported to be mould & mildew prohibitive. Guest guest
Hi, Krys!THanks for asking! We are quite ok:) Have a staph-infection on the skin as a result from the mites, but no more bites:)!So for us the move made a lot of difference. So your mum is thinking of selling and moving as well... It´s a big step, but it seems to have helped many. I hope she´ll cope with it. We had to tell that we had mites as a written information, so that there would be no problems after the sale, having to take the house back. Maby that´s what she needs to do as well to be safe with the law?I read one of the testimonies on the birdmites.org when I decided to move. IT was a man who had done everything for a year but hadn´t succeeded, and then finally moved and brought nothing, he was thereafter mite-free. Did you read that one? We even got rid of the cars...Tell your mum she´s a strong lady and that I really hope everything will go great with the house-sale.Take care!CeciliaFrom: Krys Brennand <krys109uk@...>bird mites Sent: Friday, August 26, 2011 3:53 PMSubject: Re: Re: move away from the mites when nothing else works Hi Cecilia,Things still going well for your girls? Guest guest
Krys, and ,I'm going to the hardware store this morning but before I do go I'll google Menards to see what kind of mold killers they carry and see if they carry same at our hardware store or Lowe's. I'm not sure what formalin is, but will look that up too. Bleach lightens the mold in the shower, but it just keeps coming back. So that tells me bleach does not kill it. Guest guest
, Let us know how the homemade solutions work:) Love and light, You and me both S.Jay. I used to spray a lot of ammonia and Windex all over, but I really want a good mold cleaner. The Lysol did not kill the mold in my shower yesterday, at least not the mildew which I am assuming is mold. Any more suggestions for a mold killer? L.
