Can a bird's nest 20 feet in the air and about 4-6 feet away from the house

be the source of the mites?

I have read that it is usually in the attic or roof but I just saw this nest

near my apartment...

This one is several feet away from the perimeter of my front stoop so just

curious if anyone thinks this could be the one.

Guessing I should remove it either way as I could see how they might be able to

potentially " drop " on me from the nest although I don't see how they can control

themselves in the air...
