The test at IGenix was not very expensive, a little over $100, but getting a doctor who will send you to the lab or have their lab do the work is the most expensive and the hardest part. The herb Teasel helps a lot with Lyme disease symptoms we found. My husband takes Teasel every day. It really helps keep the Lyme symptoms at bay. I agree with your other comments Aandraya about testing. From: "Aandraya Da Silva" <aandraya@...>bird mites Sent: Monday, August 22, 2011 9:40:43 AMSubject: Re: Re: How easy it is for bird mites to get through screens?

Jay-Lyme is a clinical diagnosis. If you've had it for a long time the tests will show up negative until you start to treat. That's why a Lyme doc can get your symptoms, test through Igenix if you can afford it, or do a provocation test. You can try a product called Banderol- can't think of the company right now. Take a few drops for a week or so. If you have Lyme you'll get a Herxheimer effect(die-off effect from the bacteria being attacked) and you will feel fluish. That will almost for sure happen if you have Lyme. Don't waste your money on a non Lyme literate doctor, they don't know anything about chronic Lyme and they'll give you the ELISA test which is pretty much useless.AandrayaOn Aug 22, 2011, at 11:33 AM, s.jay8383 wrote: Thanks for the further info. I went through the twitching too and my LLD told me to make sure I'm getting sufficient calcium, magnesium and potassium because I was getting leg cramping too. Terrible in the middle of the night. I'm not a milk drinker, but I do have plain yogurt daily. Vitamin D is essential for absorption of calcium; you can take that in a supplement or make sure you get a lot of sun. From: "s.jay8383" <s.jay8383@...>bird mites Sent: Monday, August 22, 2011 9:33:33 AMSubject: Re: How easy it is for bird mites to get through screens?

Here's the deal Jay. 1 cup of Lysol complete in a gallon of water in a garden sprayer will kill the fungus in the car. However, 2 things can re infect it. 1. The spores are not affected by the lysol, so spraying a lot helps. 2. If the spores are still coming off your body, you are reinfecting it, too. I clean the car with it about every 6 weeks now as my body is not letting of spores (I think) anymore. At the height of this, I took my floor mats and hooked them on the wall at the car wash and soaked them in Lysol. 30 minutes later, I rinsed them, let them dry, and that was the big turning point in my car. Do not use the Lysol disinfectant in a spray can as that will not do anything much.

Thanks for the comment. We all need love and light now.

Love and light,

The Lysol Complete Clean will be more effective at killing mould than vinegar.  Lysol Complete Clean, & the Lysol Original diluting formula, have different ingredients. Complete clean contains the anti-fungal, anti bacterial benzalkonium chloride (benzalkonium chloride is a shortened name the product has has the full chemical name on the bottle); the original, diluting kind, contains cresols but not benzalkonium chloride.

I think benzalkonium cloride damages the exo skeleton of mites but I assume that would only happen if the solution came into contact with the mite; I doubt it would affect mites once dry.

Do you know what the difference is between that and the concentrate you mix with water?

Also, I was reading that white vinegar will also kill the mold in a vehicle...and that taking baths in 8 ounces of ammonia will kill the mold on/in the body.

Any thoughts about those two products for this purpose?

Thanks for the info on Complete Clean. I had just sprayed my shower for mold with bleach and it is back already (mold)... so will try the Lysol Complete Clean which I purchased recently. I had understood, correct me if wrong, that garlic, fresh, was the best source of allicin and the processed allicin does not have much allicin in it. I use garlic, but for a while I tried to take it crushed whole which I could do for a few days, but then it got to my stomach. I can use it like Krys suggested, crushed or cut up into pieces with food. That's how I use it, but husband cannot tolerate it unless cooked, which removes most of the good worth of garlic. So sometimes I make eggs in the morning and put fresh garlic in that. Krys, can you suggest a dish or two where you use fresh uncooked garlic? From: "Aandraya Da Silva" <aandraya@...>bird mites Sent: Monday, August 22, 2011 8:54:02 AMSubject: Re: Re: How easy it is for bird mites to get through screens?

I agree with this Aandraya, but I believe also that because of the stress on our systems, many nutrients are readily used up with stress, including many minerals and vitamins - we don't eat as well when stressed, things get missed or skipped, our bodies become wreaked with problems, intestinal especially, so absorption of minerals becomes a problem as our bodies take on a more acidic pH which does not allow for correct assimilation of nutrients. Supplementation of minerals is necessary, as well as enzymes (good ones). But the infections do need to be jointly dealt with. It is a MUST. We have to treat the house, whole environment, including bodies inside and out. This is what makes the process so complex. From: "Aandraya Da Silva" <aandraya@...>bird mites Sent: Monday, August 22, 2011 9:33:31 AMSubject: Re: Re: How easy it is for bird mites to get through screens?

Eye twitching is a neurological symptom very typical of tick borne chronic infections because these organisms release biotoxins(neurotoxins) into the system. You may start to experience other subtle twitching feelings as time goes by. A Lyme literate doctor can diagnose any possible infections- Lyme, Bartonella, and Babesia, these infections are endemic now. Many are infected for years and have no idea. It can take 20+ years for the toxins to build up in the system until they start causing more extreme symptoms- including the skin fungus, lesions, debris coming out of the skin, etc. AandrayaOn Aug 21, 2011, at 11:44 PM, Doe wrote: Hi Jay My eye alo twitched rom all this , I think it was stress , I used to think it was the betadine I dumped on my head to stop the lesisons , which worked but is not recommendded by pharmacists , they say iodine is not good for on you in that hyigh of a concentration , .lesions are gone now , that was 5 years ago ,also we had no forums then , none. For treating ailments, if we don't wan to munch on whole cloves we mince it & add various things to make it more palatable. My daughter is the creative person who dreams up this type of thing. One of her favourites  for just about any ailments is minced garlic, minced raw mushrooms, fresh ground black pepper, olive oil & , I think, lemon juice, but I could be wrong about the lemon.

We do however, eat a good deal of garlic, raw & cooked, in our food as a matter of course. The obvious thing that springs to mind is salads we use lots of raw garlic in salads. We do our own salads, don't use bottle dressings.  We never add sugar to salads, rarely ever add fruit, & had never heard of the dressings used in US prior to coming here, so what we make as " salad " might not be familiar.  Hummus (yum) has lots of raw garlic (again we make our own). Various bean dips are best with crushed garlic. After cooking pasta, toss it in olive oil with a few cloves of raw crushed garlic. A couple of cloves of raw crushed garlic added to pasta sauces after cooking, in addition to the garlic cooked in the sauce, gives a nice bite.

Hope this gives a few ideas; I can do recipes if you like. :-)All the bestKrysOn 23 August 2011 13:07, <Goldstein@...> wrote:

Wow, thanks Krys. I've always purchased my hummus, but maybe I should try your method. Let me know what that might be. Probably fairly simple, right? I'm trying to get my pictures loaded from my trip, but am having lots of trouble uploading them, except on Facebook, where they seem to load easily. I have a new computer (iMac), but I had this problem with the old PC I had before the iMAC. Not sure what to do next. Am sure I am doing something wrong. Hi , Yes, hummus is very simple. We make ours to taste so it is hard to be precise about quantities. Boil about half kg or about 1lb of chick peas until soft. Drain, & save the water. Mash the chick peas (or use a hand blender) gradually adding the water to aid mashing; add about 2 or 3 large dollops of tahini (sesame paste), the other the ingredients are more or less added to taste so you'll need to experiment.  Several cloves of garlic crushed, a large dash of olive oil, fresh lemon juice, salt, fresh ground black pepper, oh & some people add a bit of paprika. Adjust consistency adding the chick pea water as desired, taste & adjust other ingredients gradually to taste. In Greece the consistency made is usually reasonably loose but some people like their hummus quite firm; I like fresh hummus any way it comes. ;-P

Good luckKrysOn 23 August 2011 13:55, <Goldstein@...> wrote:

LInda,

Keep in mind that the risiods anchor into any pore they can find. I used a steel wool cleanng pad to clean my shower. I'd feel with my hand after every rinse, and continue to scrub where I felt the least bump. Then, know that any spore that got by will root. Spray clean shower with lysol and then treat again in a day or two. You can slowly back off as you stay persistant.

Love and light,

Great information.I actually did spray the interior with the Lysol with uncertain results...Do you know what the difference is between that and the concentrate you mix with water? Also, I was reading that white vinegar will also kill the mold in a vehicle...and that taking baths in 8 ounces of ammonia will kill the mold on/in the body.Any thoughts about those two products for this purpose?

Well, for a while, I took a large bath in 1 cup of Lysol and it did the trick. Made me real sick as the die off the the fungus was huge. I take one maybe once every 3 weeks now. It does not make me sick anymore. My dermo wanted me to try one cap full of bleach to a large bath, but I noticed the bleach did not kill it in my clothes and know that some forms of mold and fungus will thrive on bleach. You may have the kind that don't. Who knows. I've told you what worked for me. Not knowing what you might have, you'll have to observe and pick the best advice from each of us. That's just the thing about this. We all seem to scew one way or the other. Each person has to figure the puzzle pieces out themselves. You, however, are girded with more information in the early stages then

most of us were, so I'd say you'll get to the bottom of your issues much faster then we did. Observe, observe, and observe. You start to get your answers.

Love and light,

S.Jay,I've had all the symptoms you describe and Aandraya describes. I have Bartonella and Babesia along with the Lyme. I've never found collembola or seen anything jumping in the house, but who knows, may have that too based on the fact that we did heavy gardening the day before I dragged this stuff into our house. Our meditation center near us has a once a year seva (volunteer work day) and I was carrying loads and loads of leaf litter to the truck for hauling out. Worked all day with garden litter and garbage and part of the next day in our yard cleaning up the same thing. From: "Aandraya" <aandraya@...>bird mites Sent: Sunday, August 21, 2011 8:55:33 PMSubject: Re: Re: How easy it is for bird mites to get through screens?

Jay- Eye twitching? Lyme Disease! Most with Lyme also have the coinfections Bartonella and Babesia. Long term anxiety, depression-Bart. Memory loss- Lyme and Bart. You're case reminds me of mine when I first got the stuff coming out of my skin, and the biting. Certain insects are attracted to our skin, mine were collembola. You made a good move- the Garlic, yogurt(no sugar), and baths... It is going to take much more than this to completely recover. Depends on the brand. Zhang has taken the Allicin and concentrated it, he practices modern chinese medicine. His stuff is very potent, I believe it would take an extreme amount of raw garlic to match the potency of his daily Allicin protocol. Biopure has a good product as well. Again, taking the Zhang allicin will cause a strong herx so start slow.AandrayaOn Aug 23, 2011, at 1:07 PM, Goldstein@... wrote: I had understood, correct me if wrong, that garlic, fresh, was the best source of allicin and the processed allicin does not have much allicin in it. Definitely get your Vit D level checked. When I started treatment my D level was a 14, the doc nearly fell off his chair. I take a prescription Vit. D 50.000 mg once a week and my levels now are just barely getting into a healthy range- after 18 months. Getting your D level up should help decrease some of the fatigue.AandrayaOn Aug 23, 2011, at 1:17 PM, Goldstein@... wrote: Hmmmm, I didn't know Lyme spiros used up a lot of Vit. D and magnesium. I guess I am scrubbing the shower tomorrow with Lysol and steel wool. Thanks !Sent from my iPodOn Aug 23, 2011, at 2:24 PM, Benton <sarahbenton48@...> wrote:

Isn't there a danger that steel wool will put tiny scratches into the surface of baths, showers etc. thus giving a surface which is easier for the fungus to get a better hold & be less vulnerable to being cleaned away?

Good point Krys. Also the fungus is always just on the grout and I don't know how that will do with steel wool. From: "Krys Brennand" <krys109uk@...>bird mites Sent: Wednesday, August 24, 2011 4:04:14 AMSubject: Re: Re: How easy it is for bird mites to get through screens?

Hi Kryes,

Well, I've cleaned my showers and bathes for years with steele wool when I ran out of cleaner. I use the Brillo soap pads for pots and pans. Ylou may have a point. However, I run my hands over the surface of the shower and rarely feel any bumps now. I guess I don't care if I get more pores as long as its typical fungus growing and not histoplasmosis. I will say that the surfaces shine like never before when this is done. So clean! I will take my chances as the H has got to bite the dust. Such is the desparate mind.
