Hi,

Praise God ever since baking soda dusted around tthe house it has stopped

them , its too dry for anything to live , my feet are dry as ashes , I have to

oil them cause I put baking soda in my shoes , I haven had one in my boot in

months & months & if I walk baredoot & pick up some if I put my boot on it

stops them, if it dosent peroxide /borax / water kills them fast every time.

Thank God for the forum & all you sharing your info & tips

God bless all of you ,

Bill

ps the baking soda instantly stops them inthe car too, I sprinkle on a genorous

portion all over the seats & carpet & poof it on the head liner with a hole in

the box or a store bought duster ( Chapin bran naturally , 140 years in business

$10.00 al all Ace Hardwares http://www.chapinmfg.com or 800-950-4458 always

works & gauranteed for life ) I then rub it in well , then beat the seats &

it billows all over the car & hides all traces of the dust , I look like a

normal citizen again , & no bugs . If it dosent work I soak the seat & carpet

with 1 cup borax , 1 cup spic n ' Span & 1 gallon of water with a chapin

garden sprayer , then wet van out with no rinsing . No bug for weeks ... then

some get in or hatch , I repeat , slowly but surely attrition ( dead bug by

repeated detruction of all live ones, soone or later there will be no more eggs.

& I have a clean car , I dry the car w/ a hair dryer left on every nite , it

takes 2 days to dry other

wise it might get moldy, but not easily withthe borax water.

Thanks for the good tip Bill. Baking soda is an inexpensive solution and

am glad it is working. I use it with laundry also. Just put the clothes

and soap in the water and then a cup of baking soda and let them sit

there are an hour or two before completing the wash cycle.

Hi,

Do you think I can put the baking soda on my pillows? For some reason my

pillows get infested immediately. I am constantly buying new pillows. I wash

them in bleach and its good for two days. The only way I can manage to sleep

with pillows is using menthol powder but its not good enough. I have tried to

sleep with plastic covers on them but its so hard to sleep with the noise it

makes. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks, Blanca

Hi Beesphoto,

You can cut down on the noise from your pillow, which is what I've done. First, the pillow has the plastic zip cover on the pillow (Walmart). Secondly, I put another cotton zip cover for dust mites on the pillow (another $5 at Walmart), then I put a pillow case over that. I wash the pillow case and zip up dust mite cover each day and put back on before I go to sleep. The pillow is not near as noisy that way. You could also put the baking soda dusted on the pillow case, as long as it does not get into the eyes or nose.

I never found bleach killed anything off and I tried in many times. I think it is better to use ammonia in wash water and Borax with Arm and Hammer unscented detergent. If you absolutely had to you could put your pillow in the oven on a low rack at 150 degrees, no higher, for one hour - that kills these microorganisms off, but you would have to do it every day and make sure the pillow did not burn up. I used to do that daily with my husband's jeans.

You could also use ear plugs (silicone) which I sometimes have to do when my husband is snoring really loudly. It is a life saver for my sleep, but if I use too often I end up with ear infections becauses sinuses need to drain.

Hi

For 5 years I dodnt use a pillow or a sheet or blanket . I used a shirt balled

up Ii could boil each day for 3 hrs in a big pot onthe stove with 2 bricks on

top of th clothes to wieght them down & 2 clorox bottles on thep of the lid to

wieght down the lid. I used a space heater or hair dryer on the bed to keep me

warm . , it was cheaper then laundry every day of all the bed linens. I slep on

an air matress that I deflated , rolled up & folded 3 times , pleaced in & 5

gallon bucket with 3/4 cup of Arm & Hammer Powdered Laundry Detergent & 5 gal

of water & 2 clorox bottle to submege the ait matress for 30 mins to 8 hrs .

Then dup in tub , run water on , then lift up & rinse in shower ,drip dry for 10

mins & place on a hard smooth floor then was misted w this mix / 1 cup borax & 1

cup Arm & Hammer Powdered Laundry Detergent & 2 tbl coconut oil 1 gallon water

.. Then place hair dryer on cool shot ( no heat setting ) & air up air matress in

90 seconds &

sleep totaly bug free every nite .

I washed all washed with borax water 1 cup per gallon. The borax leaves a

residue. If it didn't stop the bug I added 5 cups epsom to the 1 gallon of mix

& it stopped the bug dead. I di did every 3 days , it made the paint shrink &

crack after 2 months so I re spackled & primed & painted . Paint stops the bug .

1 cup Dry baking soda in a blender w/ a fan behind it to waft it all over stops

the bug very effectivly . I don't know if it is a combination of the borax &

epaom then then the baking soda or is the baking soda would of stopped them

alone , let me know if you find out . I used many many destructive approackes ,

but I haven felt a bug in weeks . & no crawling in 1. 5 years since I took 1 cup

borax & a full tub of water baths for 30 min then rinsed & refilled & added 2

tbl cococnut oil & pray hard as possib le to God for help He does hear . & he

stopped it after almost 5 years of misery from this bug. Bless His Holy name

Bill

Hello friends,

I want to thank all that responded to my initial post regarding my pillows being

constantly infested. I have been batteling these monsters for about 6 years.

Although things are a lot better than they were the first two nighmarish years

they still are around bugging me. I don't get the welts and painful sores over

my body but I know they are still around. I keep them at bay with bleach, a

mixture of wintergreen alcohol and vinegar and menthal powder. I feel fine in

all of the house until I rest my head on my pillow. I still wash my bed sheets

3 times a week versus daily. How I hope we could all find a true solution to

this once and for all. I have tried a lot of your wonderful suggestions to no

avail but who knows I will try again maybe this time it might just work.

Thanks, Blanca (beesphoto)

I sure have wondered if these are truly mites... their behavior seem mite-like. I recently purchased a handheld microscope and what appears in the "bites" are fibers. I've seen plenty of fibers on myself before, but I am wanting to find a mite to confirm that for myself. I was looking in areas where there is still buzzing going on, namely one hand. I can't explain why certain products seem to stop this "bug" as opposed to other products that seem to do little. It all makes so little sense. Also, I think these fibers are being produced in the house, and not just in my body. Are they eternal as someone else here suggested?

Six years is a long time beesphoto... :( -- so hope you find relief from baking soda or something. It is so tiring to being changing of the bed and vacuuming all the time. I thought 3 years was bad. I'm exhausted.

Spraying pillows with wintergreen alcohal and vinegar, white distilled helped

me. If one can afford just use the wintergreen alcohal straight, if not mix 1/2

1/2. Also making a spritzer of MMS1 spray, spray entire bed let dry.
