Hi Cecilia, did you move out of your beloved home in the meantime and has your situation improved since and what did you do to not move the bugs with you?

Hugs,

Aggi

Hi, LInda!|Thanks so much for good info!My daughter has it on her buttocks mainly, but I guess to use products that you suggest will be fine:)The bleachbaths work though (but we don´t have a tub, so I have to go away to others to let her do it every other day...)I will try some of your suggestions thanks for thinking of me.I am glad that yours seem better, but I guess it must be bacterial (staph) if the doxy helps.Take care!Warm

Hi Cecilia,Here is some information I found on the internet last night. I have had a re-emergency of the folliculitis which your daughter may have too at a low level. Some of the folliculitis goes away on its own they say, some does not, especially if the immune system is low. There is a fungal form called pityrosporum folliculitis and there are bacterial forms, mostly of staph aureus. I may have the fungal form, although I noticed Doxy does seem to help to keep it at bay. One site recommended using shampoo with coal tar, zinc, salicylic acid and ketaconazole to shampoo with if the folliculitis is in the hair (mine is). Using luke warm water on the scalp helps keep the oils down - the hotter the water used in bathing, shampooing, the more oil is produced. One

sufferer for many years found that she had low iron and this was why the folliculitis would not go away. As soon as she addressed the low iron issue, the folliculitis went away and stayed away. What I'm trying and was recommended by many people who suffered from this was the use of vinegar (50% vinegar and 50% warm water) poured over the scalp and body. They said to leave it on without rinsing for 2-3 minutes and continue doing this every day. I used apple cider vinegar all over the body with water in a large cup this morning, so I'll let you know if it goes away. You can also use white vinegar. Does not seem to matter if the treatment is with white vinegar or apple cider vinegar.Apparently also the herb saw palmetto helps regulate DHT in the body which blocks over production of oil glands in the scalp and body too. I might try this if the apple cider vinegar with

water does not work.Hugs, thinking of you now!
