Guest guest
Hi BJ: A Baker's scale is just like what it sounds like. Breast tissue is analogous to a ball of dough, thus the term baker's scale. Normal breasts are soft, these may be (?) a Baker's scale 1. The Baker's scale goes from 1 to 4. A Baker's scale of III and IV are considered capsular contracture that is SO bad that it is medically necessary for the implants to come out. My breasts were a II and a III, and my PS wrote a letter to the ins. company saying they needed to come out. For insurances to pay for removal of implants it must be medically necessary. Capsular contracture is about the only way to get them out. Unless of course if you can document rupture. How to find out if you have a rupture would be to go to your GP and request an MRI of your breasts to detect rupture. PS won't operate without some form of xray. As I stated in an earlier post an untrained ultrasound technician will not be able to pick up rupture from an ultrasound. I am sure you have capsular contracture. Tell you GP that you breast are hard and painful. You could also say that you have Lupus, etc etc. Does this answer your question.
