Guest guest
Thanks so much for sharing that. I am scared of vaccines. In general I am far more scared of vaccines that i am of the illnesses thay are said to protect kids from. If it was an all or none, we'd certainly go with none. My concern is with the illnesses that are out there and if the vax is worth the risk. The hib protects from a form of mening. but there were under 100 cases of it in the US last year....our son is in a day care. our doc. said that he is comfortable not vaxing non day care kids. > > > > As someone who was pro-vax until my son was harmed by a vaccine, I cannot in good conscience consider telling you anything other than what you don't want to hear: all vaccines ARE bad. Sorry. It's not a scare tactic, just the truth based on facts. > > > > What would you call a product that carries the risk of death? All vaccines do. How could something that is toxic to your children and not guaranteed to work ever be good? I can't prove they've never helped anyone, although I personally don't believe it, but I can say they've killed and injured many, many children. > > > > Are you only considering vaccinating because your child is going into day care, because your doctor is suggesting it, or because you truly feel this will give your child good health? I think you need to look at your reasons, look at the facts and go with your heart. He's your child, not mine. And he's not your doctor's either. You and your wife will have to live with it if your child is harmed by vaccines just as you will have to live with it if he gets diseases--which vaccinated children get all the time, by the way. FYI--my partially vaxed and completely unvaxed children (ages 10-19) have not gotten any of them except chicken pox. > > > > Read the package inserts; (http://vaers.hhs.gov/pdf/PackageInserts.pdf). Guest guest
The Hib vaccine is supposed to protect, but does it? When it first came out, they said one shot was enough. Now it's two or more. That makes it difficult for me to trust what they say about it protecting at all. There was info here several months ago about the connection of Hib to the increase in peanut allergies, and also to asthma. My older two children got the vaccine (only one back then) and my younger two didn't. None have ever had meningitis. My oldest had asthma and allergies, my second some learning disabilities, the last two are the healthiest. Someone else said it earlier--if the other kids at day care are vaccinated, then there shouldn't be any diseases therere, right? So that factor shouldn't weigh into this at all. It should solely be based on if the vaccine works and is safe. I don't envy you being in this spot with a first child.
