Here is a breakdown of HIB cases in PA. Most children were not vaccinated for

HIB at all. One 4 years old boy who died was completely unvaccinated because of

religion. How bad could his lifestyle be? He was just an average boy who grew up

in a religious community so i don't think he was completely neglected or hungry,

etc. This incident is disturbing especially that he was 4. I thought this

diseases was only effecting kids up to 2 years old or so. So can anyone get

envasive HIB infection at any time? Even myself? hmmm

I know there was some discussion about the fact that other vaccines might

predispose a child to developing HIB and that completely unvaxed kids are strong

and can withstand any infections that come their way. I'm having doubts about

this theory. What if it's wrong and many do say that it depends on a germs'

virulence, type of germs, it's resistance to antibiotics. Many germs mutate and

have many clever ways to hide and full our immune system. Immune ssytem needs

time to adopt and if something is new and unfamiliar, it might not have enough

time to mount needed attack on ininvaders and the disease just might kill. This

is what many people in medicine say. Yes , healthy lifystyle is great but it's

not everything; that we should not think that by eating organic foods we will

not get sick.
