Guest guest
Well, speaking for myself, I just signed up for this forum a few hours ago. I'm Naomi, and I've been hanging out on the BFFM forum for about a year. The main reason I'm here is because I've been spying on Skwigg's life (via her blog) for a few months now; it's fairly amazing that I haven't been here before now. I want to be just like Skwigg when I grow up--which is really weird, considering I'm 47 years old. OK, I don't want to be exactly like her; I have no desire to be willingly beaten up on a regular basis. And I don't really want three crazed canine companions. But I do want her energy and her metabolism and her back muscles. It'll take me a while to figure out the regulars and the pecking order around here--looking forward to chatting with y'all. Guest guest
Well, I for one. I just got back from the OS today for my second shot of cortisone in my shoulder for inflammation originally caused three years ago from not being able to get out of chairs from severe knee pain. FWIW, shoulders do not do the job of knees very well. At least cortisone shots in the shoulder do not hurt near as much as under the kneecap in my experience. In fact, less than 10% as much IMO. Guest guest
I'm here, although I'm in another town than where I live. WiFi works!! My knees hurt. I had a partial meniscectomy on the L one and that still hurts (to sit, but not to walk), and my R knee hurts just because I've been thinking about hiking. Ann Hello? Anyone here? Guest guest
I was trying to put a number on it, since several of the OS's I went to didn't believe the cortisone shots into my knees hurt as much as they did. I have also had a half dozen cortisone shots into my elbows, none of which hurt half as much as any of the four shots I had into my knees. Mike MT Hello? Anyone here? Guest guest
Yup, still here, still rehabbing (the story of my life). Muscles are getting stronger, but the bone pain isn't going away....doubt that it ever will. Anyone else experience the phenomenon of slightly increasing your workout routine and then facing a set back of untold proportions? Seems like everytime I try a little harder, I get knocked on my *ss a little faster! <g> nne Hello? Anyone here? Don

Guest guest
hello to all, have not posted in a good while as my knee seems to be doingl pretty good. just waiting for something to happen to it or the other one. Ive been working out at least as much as i can at the gym Ha and a funny thing happened i hurt my back as a slipped disc. so took therapy pain pills really helped more than anything. About the 4th or 5th week into therapy my right hand and thumb started really hurting and could not hold a glass or get dressed, so found out it was tendonitis. its much better now hope that pain doesnt come back. old age is really not so much fun after all. here in Lubbock tex is really hot but dry, dry and have to conserve water. need rain. hope everyone has a good summer. Guest guest
Yep, still here also! I've just come back from a cycling holiday in france where I got to fulfill a lifelong dream of cycling up Mont Ventoux: the infamous mountain made mythical by the Tour de France; a 15 mile climb with a unrelenting gradient of 10%. Ok, so I've got CP and its pretty much here to stay so what the hell was I trying to do climbing this thing? I trained quite hard for this just within and sometimes just over the limits of what the cp would let me, but this mountain was completely something else; it will put massive stress on the knees. I figured that cp is here to stay and is generally over the next 30 yrs probably going to get worse, so this was pretty much going to be my last chance. I'm 32 and it hurts most days, but not enough to stop me riding the bike; not yet anyway. This was how I rationalised it to myself. I'm not sure if I did the right thing, but I managed to surmount it, and in quite a quick time, with only some pain in the last 2 miles and not a horrible post-ride pain that I anticipated. It was such an amazing experience which left me wanting to do this every summer, which in turn left me feeling very sad. And this is the crux of it: its knowing that that is 'realistically' NOT going to happen anymore, and somehow I'm gonna have to come to terms with it; that for all of us, our activity is compromised heavily by this condition and theres no definitive solutions to it. Some days its acutely frustrating! especially when its summer outside. Anyway, just sharin some thoughts Hello? Anyone here? Don
Guest guest
, Congrats on the climb. Keep doing what you can, but don't hurt yourself too much. You're young, so take care of those knees as much as you can. I respect you attitude on doing these type of activities. Keep it up. I bought a new table color to use for the snowy seasons. And ice blue just to be in the xmas snow mood. It looked very pretty I think. I'll post some pix when I get them off my camera. Guest guest
Congrats on the good show season Shaye. I don't do shows and after hearing all the woes for all of you I'm glad that I don't. LOL. I used to do shows/demos with my handpounded-ash-splint baskets when I still made them and while they could at times be fun, they were so tiring and there really was no money to be made. Of course, for some reason, when people come to the Adirondacks they don't want to spend money on arts or crafts. They expect everything to be so much less than they would pay for it at home or in a city - when if fact, all of our costs to produce anything and our cost of living is so much higher than outside the park! ... sorry, rant over! lol Not much snow here yet from this storm. We already have about 4 to 6 inches from previous snows that haven't melted (lots of snow has). They are predicting up to 18 inches for us with this one (or as little as 6 - go figure- lol - it really depends on the tracking). Very, very cold yesterday and today. Below zero with high winds, so wind chill was way down there. Stay warm and safe everyone! www.BlueMountainBotanicals.com RE: Hello? Glad the link didnt LOL I didnt put a link on there.
